  • Just finished making a relish with cucamelons, tiny melons, onions, red and yellow peppers with herbs from the garden (thyme, mint, chives and fennel).
Must say it looks good so hopefully it taste good as well. Needs to mature.

    Apples, pears and tomatoes.

Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

  • We have been picking from our very old Williams pear the last week.
The skin looks awful but peeled and cored, so ripe and sweet.
Tydeman early worcester is the best of the apples in our orchard at the moment.
  • Collection of red things from today...tomatoes, strawberries, pepper and some jalapenos
  • Wow Still strawberries! We haven't had any for months.

Almost everything is winding down here, except for the chillies which are going great guns. Aubergines have only now started to flower and set fruit, I doubt whether they will be ready for picking before the cold weather sets in. After all, growing them outside was a risk.

  • @Eustace No it isn't winding down here.
We are still harvesting purple tee beans, pea beans, leeks, beetroot, spinach, potatoes and in the polytunnel peppers, aubergines, tomatoes (not many) salad crops, and still cucamelons and then a variety of apples and pears outdoors and in the next few weeks medlars and quinces with grapes for the next wine harvest.
