    Bishop's crown chillies.

And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

How lovely,  I’d love a grape vine,  have you got it planted outside then trained into the greenhouse?
Every time I pick runner beans I think this must be the last, anyway another dinner for today and some tomatoes.

@Lyn thanks. The grape vine is planted outside beside a south facing fence. It is in its 5th year and has given us bountiful harvests since its 3rd year.  The vines are trained  along horizontal wires between the fence posts; but it will look better if trained on a pergola. May be a task for next year. The variety is 'Supaga', hardy for UK outdoors. the grapes are suitable for wine as well as dessert/table grapes. HTH

  • @Eustace we managed to pick 2 buckets of white wine grapes (outdoors) and these are infusing and getting ready for the demijons tomorrow.
Still having issues with mildew for the 2nd year even with the outdoor vines.

The cucumbers in one of the plants has started turning yellow and wonky too.

  • Today's trug full. Beetroot,  broccoli, Cauliflower (last one 😥)  cucumber,  toms & red & green lettuce.  My wife has already dealt with the flower basket full of Dahlias and spray Chrysanthemums.

@Eustace. Lovely lot there, can you send a cucumber down here, my snails have gone off the supermarket ones. 🙂

@Allotment Boy. Nice harvest, I love freshly cooked beetroot. I’ve given up on cauliflower, mine are useless.

  • @Lyn we gave up with caulis many years ago.
Our clay soil (lack of certain nutrients?) didn't allow them to develop.
Would be great to have some but then we do well with other veg.
  • Clay soil is naturally fertile, but brassicas are heavy feeders. I find that slow release feed such as seaweed pellets,  and also use of rock dust  to add vital minerals really helps, give good tight heads of all the brassica family.
