I couldn't agree more. He's just too Divine. I'll have to fight his Aunt for max cuddles when we get together.

That is definitely a zither @Pat E ... looks like a good one.  I think they're tuned to the same key as mandolins and banjos etc, so the music would be useful for both.

Gorgeous little man @Hostafan1 ... you're going to have fun with him.  He looks like a strong character  ;)   I remember the first thing Ma said when she saw @WonkyWomble was 'She's got a very determined chin' .... methinks she spotted something there  ;)

@D0rdogne_Damsel oh echium, a potential lake, just like Hosta!!!

That’s a Zither, my daughter used to play similar but with the hammers.

Thanks Dove and Lyn. I followed up Hosta’s idea and looked on line. Amazing variety of shapes and decorations. Maybe I should teach myself to play and forget the Ukelele.🙄😁

Hi folks, Cloudy but warm here today. Have workmen in today replacing the kitchen cupboard doors.  Short notice, they only phoned last night, but I don't mind.  Had a long conversation with the GP this morning, he is going to sort out speech therapy for Hubby.  He also ran through the letter sent by the hospital to him.  He said that there will be a follow up appt in 3 months and they also want to monitor Hubby's heart for a 7 day period.  It's put my mind at rest as I was told nothing and thought he had just been sent home and abandoned.
We're off to Firstborns later this afternoon (if the workmen have finished).
That Zither looks remarkable @Pat E

The builders have finished at last. I have a new utility room, shower, sink that works and a study. I am the painter so there ae some bits to touch up and the study window to paint and I'm painting bookshelves for the study. Think they will need at least 3 coats.

There is a lot of stuff to unpack in the loft and some furniture to move. The lovely couple who helped with my house move are coming on Tuesday to help. A lot is too heavy for me on my own.

    Morning all,

That sounds like good progress @Busy-Lizzie :)

The overnight rainfall was minimal but it all saves extra watering. Looks like it might be brightening up as we go through the day.

I've just (finally) sorted the ugly space next to the back door. A mixture of small pots failing to cover the drainage pipe I had to fit for the washing machine (long, boring story involving the council coming round and the bloke who installed our washing machine being a clueless git!).

It's only a small victory but looks better now. Plus, we might get some blueberries :)

Gosh, I bet you're pleased @Busy-Lizzie, that sounds such a useful set of rooms, wish I had a utility room instead of a utility cupboard. I used to have such a large one in our previous house.

    Gorgeous photo Hostafan.

I hope you will be pleased with your new kitchen cupboard doors @Yviestevie. We had that done in our previous house (I couldn't stand the 1970's banana yellow ones when I moved in) and it was very much an improvement, along with new countertops as well.
I also had all the wall tiling (also banana yellow all round up to the ceiling!) painted with special tile paint which lasted surprisingly well. Glad your OH is being monitored and hope his speech improves soon.

I've never seen a Zither before @Pat E, it looks quite intriguing. Do you have Ebay or Facebook, you could try posting a sale on those and see what response you get.

What happened to the tables/chairs you ordered DD? Delivery was delayed, wasn't it?

I feel rather washed out today, don't quite know why, slept reasonably well but it is cloudy and muggy today. I might just do some potting on and take it easy, my friend gave me two tomato plants yesterday that need to go in the greenhouse I think.

Sounds as if everyone's having a positive day .... the arrival of noisy builders next door fixing the old storm damage and repairing the flat roof to the porch and side extension meant that being out in the garden with the sound of their power tools and the dust they were making didn't appeal that much ... so I decided to take George out for a drive and have a look at a farm shop I'd heard of but hadn't visited ... it was wonderful ... lots of lovely fresh fruit, veg, dairy and baked goods etc.  As well as the stuff we needed, I've come home with local strawberries, asparagus, a lump of Twix tiffin for OH and the wonderful locally made ice cream OH used to sell when he worked at the other farm shop.

In the same farmyard there's also a car mechanics' place (I've heard good things about it ... a neighbour always uses them) and a butcher!  all the meat is raised on local farms, some of them North Suffolk farmers that I know  :thumbsup   and their beef is all from their own herd of prize-winning Red Poll cattle, the breed Pa kept when I was small (I can remember being put on the back of a cow and riding as they were going back to pasture after milking).  Red Poll beef is wonderful, and they hang and dry age it properly.  They said I can go and see the cattle sometime  :bounce:

I am so thrilled to have discovered them.  Really enthusiastic and knowledgeable young members of the farming families involved serving in the butchers.  And only 3 miles away .... I was even back in time for Popmaster  8-)  :mug: It's in one of those villages that has been sort of cut off by the dualling of the A47 so we never go down that road and that bit of South Norfolk is not an area I've had call to go to before ... but by all appearances it's thriving ... we shall have to get to know it better  ... for now we have a couple of lamb fore-shanks, a pound of minced steak, two chunky pork chops (proper ones with rind and bone) two gammon steaks, some back bacon and some of their traditional sausages ... that lot'll keep the freezer happy for a while 😉
