Good to be busy @D0rdogne_Damsel but not to be run off your feet … would it be possible to cut down on one aspect (maybe the evening stuff) for a while, until staffing issues can be resolved? Â

@Biglad  Yes, I am glad the Italians won too!!  Great whoops of delight last night.  They think they are the favourites - the English think they are the favourites.  May the best team win.  (I'm a kiwi so take no sides!!)
@D0rdogne_Damsel  The season has really begun for you and it looks to be a long one. Staff are headaches - no road is smooth.  I'm glad the ChdeG is so popular - you've done wonders!
@Busy-Lizzie  1 more test and nearly free!!?  Anyway, the garden and housework seem to be keeping you busy.  I hope you get time to put your feet up with a good book.
@Dovefromabove  Our broad beans have finished giving and I have potatoes that have popped up from last year, so some of those can be dug up soon.
I don't know if the season is late, or my soil is tired but the (veggie) garden seems to be struggling this year.  I've had aphids in the peppers or maybe they were sick, anyway they have come away and I have flowers.  It was really hot a few weeks ago but for the last 10 days we have had mild weather.  Today is overcast but no rain and some sun.  It is about 23°C which is low for this time of the year.  Patience and time!!
I hope all you gardeners (and sports fans) have a happy Sunday.
Morning all. Glad you test was negative @Busy-Lizzie - not long now. Hope your staff issues resolve themselves @D0rdogne_Damsel. All of our local cafes are really busy too - all that pent up demand from people looking at their own 4 walls only for so long. Glad you are getting some rain @Hostafan1. It is very cloudy here and looking like it is threatening rain but the forecast is for cloud all day. Not so great for the open gardens but maybe it will brighten up later.
I've had my last test @tui34, freedom day from quarantine on Tuesday but that is the day OH has his pre-op Covid test then we have to self-isolate. I will nip out to the GC before OH goes for his test. I can't understand why I have to carry on in quarantine for 10 days when my Day 8 test was negative. In France quarantine is 7 days.
That looks like my crop just before I left France @Dovefromabove. I was able to eat some beans and freeze some.
@D0rdogne_Damsel has amazing energy, I've met her and she is so full of enthusiasm for everything, even when life was treating her rough.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Thanks Dove - first batch of visitors now gone. And, between them and the second couple of visitors the b****y black cat came in and pooped on the front lawn! OH to the rescue with kitchen roll and a can of water. Glad I spotted it.
Morning all, Hope your garden open day goes well @didyw, we used to open ours but I gave that up a couple of years ago, it got too much like very hard work. Talking of hard work, try to ease up a bit, DD, as Dove says, could you cut down on the evening opening or shut for a couple of evenings a week. Must save time for Charlie. That looks a good haul Dove, I picked some strawberries and a few raspberries yesterday but the new potatoes aren't doing much, the peas are pathetic and I have the grand total of just one tomato so far. I was going to trim all my dwarf box hedges and balls today but it rained overnight again and they are damp, so will have to postpone. Need to do some more packing anyway so I'm all organised for the carpet men on Friday and holiday on Sunday. Hope your rain doesn't come our way Hosta.Â
You're all way ahead of me. No ripe strawberries yet and my broad bean pods are about 1cm long Spuds haven't started flowering yet.
The only edibles that I'm harvesting at the moment are peas, green beans and cabbage.
However, pretty much everything else looks healthy and a lot of my fruit plants are in their first year so I just want them to establish and get bigger. Need to learn to be patient Â
I sow my broad beans at the end of October @Biglad … Aquadulce… we’re usually eating them by the end of May, but the cold weather this May really set them back.Â
