We have been in the garden all afternoon too. Deadheading, pruning generally fading. Lots more to do.

Just off to bed but - I was gazing at the first flush of sweet peas I have picked and thought about what a miracle it is that a whole plant with beautiful flowers and sweet, sweet scent can come in just a few months from such a tiny little round seed.  Wonderous.

I should have been in the garden too, instead I felt dozy after the back/shoulder massage so just sat and played on the laptop.
That was after a rather amusing episode when OH literally got locked in the ensuite loo by accident - cue much laughter by yours truly and grumpiness by OH. Ended up with me trying to find a complete set of allan keys and screwdrivers and then having to stand on the stepladder outside the window to hand them through to him. I was thinking the next step would be to phone the fire service when the lock finally freed up.  Much relief all round!

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
a glorious sunrise earlier and now blue skies and golden sunshine 😊
We’re heading for S. Lincs this morning to visit MIL … back tomorrow.
Glad you managed to free your OH @Lizzie27 😂 reminds me of a holiday in Torquay when I was a child. A guest at the small hotel got ‘locked in the lav …’ etc …. The proprietor got his ladder and climbed up and opened the window and climbed in …. to the surprise of the lady who was sitting quietly on the loo pondering on the state of the world. We heard shrieks!  It was the wrong window!  It was the wrong wing of the building!
We wondered later whether John Cleese had ever visited that hotel 😂
other strange things happened there … we went fishing and caught some mackerel … we asked if the hotel kitchen would cook them for our supper.  ‘Of course’ was the reply … but they never arrived at our table … Ma went to the kitchen to enquire … and found Mr & Mrs Proprietor eating our mackerel 😐

    Morning all,

    Definitely Faulty Towers like @Dovefromabove

Still a bit chilly and rainy, not at all June like, very disappointing.

Managed a bit of gardening yesterday, but not nearly enough and so many plants bent and broken, such a shame.

Problems with staff again, both kitchen assistants are having problems with transport, the one has a motorbike which has been off the road since before we opened, supposedly to be fixed by yesterday, but now might be another week. She gets a lift in and home, but has to go exactly on time, if we are busy she can't stay any longer and can't do the split shift I need her to do either, very frustrating especially as one of the reasons I gave her the job was she had her own transport. The other one was caught driving under the influence and has now been banned from driving, he's had to take some time off to organise either a moped or a bike. Very frustrating and annoying that he was so stupid.

I have got two people lined up for an interview, fingers crossed.

    Anyway, must go, delivery due.

    Have a good day all.

Morning everyone,  I did quite a lot of pruning yesterday,  laurel  and the snowball viburnum.  Last night before bed I noticed a rash on either side of my torso.  No itching just red spots.  Nothing on hads or arms  all very odd.
