I read that covid infections in Cornwall have jumped 820% in the last 2 weeks.
    G7 anyone?
Nah - too soon. Half term and the bank holiday, more likely. The G7 impact is yet to come  :/

Damp here now and it's forecast to rain on and off all day. Which is fine for me, I'm off all week so a good drench now means hopefully the ground will be workable for the rest of the week. And hopefully it'll be cooler than last week as well. Perfect  So better get some h**w**k done today

Glad to see you around @punkdoc. Hope you're doing OK
    Good luck @chicky
Have fun in the bike trailer @Fritillary. Sounds like a Grand Day Out

    Morning all.

@Tui I have never been able to grow Pak Choi in SW France, needs lots of water and it gets too hot. Travelling into France is less complicated than travelling into the UK. If you have been vaccinated and have a negative test before travelling you don't need to quarantine, unlike the UK. £82 was very cheap for my tests, price reduced as we went to the testing place. You can't go to any test centre, there is a list on the UK Gov web site. Most are  lot more expensive. The Day 2 test was negative.

OH is going for his pre-op assessment at the hospital today, but I can't go with him, quarantine.

It looks chilly and grey outside. I'll make a start on the garden when the weather perks up.

@chicky   Best of British for you today.   A little stress is a good thing before an exam.

Hi y'all.  Expecting someone to fix the dishwasher.  Anytime up to 6pm.  Still too wet out to get any real gardening done so still doing indoor work.  Rain arriving any minute.  Lovely to have had lots of rain but that means things have been growing like mad. The hedge has grown so much it is impeding people's progress on the path outside, so will have to make like Monty and chop the sides back. That's tomorrow's job for OH!  I don't think there's anyone nesting in it.
Hope you are enjoying your ride on the bike @Fritillary. Whoops - was that a bit of a wobble there?

    Hello all,

Swapped a shift with the other cook whose son is coming to visit for the first time in months on Wednesday so I have a few hours spare. I need them too, the poor garden has been beaten down so badly, terrible torrential rain we have had, so sad to see everything so badly damaged. For the first time I had managed to achieve height withsome architectual plants and they are all sadly drooping. I have shaken the rain off and am hoping the now warm sunshine will coax them upwards again. Slugs have got my lupins too, although they were finished flowering. Need to read up on what to do next with them.

Really, really busy weekend too, the marquee worked really well, whole deck covered, although when the torrential rain came it was blowing sideways so all the customers decamped indoors, then the sun came out and new people arrived so we were full inside and out - just a little stressful! Anyway, we survived.

Good luck to @chicky, not that you need it I am sure.
Glad to hear you are safely re-united @Busy-Lizzie and Covid free.
A day out to a garden centre, what a treat that would be, not sure Ill be getting far from CdeG this summer now. If it's this busy already what will it be like come July/August.

On that note, I must get around the garden quickly and deal with the weeds.

    Take care all.
