Evening all, very dull and overcast all day but dry. Slept till 10 am but not unexpected as we didn't go to bed till midnight. Haven't done much outside apart from some deadheading and cutting down brambles that are appearing on the roadside verge under our hedge - which is growing furiously. We'll have to do a quick trim soon before it starts bulging into the road. Never very keen on milkshakes DD but yours looked very attractively presented. Glad the new marquee is up and meets your requirements. @Dovefromabove, that disturbance sounds a classic example of a person with dementia unfortunately. My late MIL used to do much the same in the middle of the night. We thought we were in for a sleepless night tonight, there's been what sounds like an illegal rave going on all afternoon but hopefully the police may have closed it down now. Last year it lasted nearly 24 hours. We were at least four miles away!
The police think the chap had probably taken too much of his drug of choice … he was an unlikely (although not impossible) candidate for dementia, being in his early 20s at most.Â
I’m so tired … I’m getting an early night with a podcast … night night all 🥱Â

Went out for slug-patrol… the lawn is teeming with snails! Extracted a few from near the veg pots but that will have to do. I also saw a frog!! No sign of hedgehog, apart from the cat food was gone again this morning. She shouldn’t need any tonight as it’s like slug and snail Glastonbury Festival out there!Â
I’ll be choosing a podcast now too, although nature is providing a lovely soundtrack of ‘rainfall on a dry garden’ which might be soothing. Night all.Â
Morning everyone.  Our weather is basically a repeat of all our days recently. I can see a thin film of grey moving from the top of the range towards us. I assume wet stuff.  Very annoying since I’ve got sheets to wash and hang out.Â
BusyL, thanks for the info. I did eventually work it out. I used to have a cousin living at Portsmouth, so I’d worked out where you were. 🙄. I’m not sure if the cousin is still there. Haven’t heard anything for several years.Â
The problem with going to bed very early is that I’ve woken early so here’s a very early good morning folks … the dawn chorus has just started … blackbirds everywhere singing their hearts out … beautiful …

Finally had a bit of light rainfall here. Very welcome but a more thorough soaking is still required.
Only a handful of Cyrils disposed of overnight. Did my patrols too early last night and too late this morning Still every little helps. The regular blackbird visitors will still have enough for breakfast, no doubt!
Morning folks, damp looking day, when I got up yesterday,I looked up hourly weather be for my immediate area, said 2% chance of rain,it was raining!! I know what you mean Dove,I went to bed before 10 on Friday, I wake up with dawn, with eye mask and blackout blinds. One of the girls I worked with used to sleep 10 hours,I can't imagine that,my idea of a good night sleep is more than 3. Strange day yesterday. Unfortunately, rain forecast till Wednesday,so dark wash on and have to be tumble dried

Still no rain here and tomorrow's forecast has improved from grim to poor
Another 3 games today, though. Which means very little gardening done.
