Having read the last day’s worth of chat, I now feel the need for a rest. 😁. It’s very overcast and cold outside, and the washing will have to wait for another day I think. I don’t fancy trying to untangle sheets from the line, with the wind we’ve got.
I was very surprised that you had a six hour boat ride BusyL, thinking to myself, but people swim the channel, so how come? Then I realised that you went down to the south of England. Hmmm.
I suppose I should stir myself into some housework. Sleep well all.
Last night we watched Paul Hollywood in Who Do You Think you are. They ended up at Gaerloch. There is a property on the other side of our range with that name. Must have been a homesick Scot who first had the property. I think I remember Punkdoc having a connection there as well. Might be wrong, though, so sorry if I’ve mucked it up Punkdoc.
Don’t know who it was.
Then next episode we saw Mary Berry doing her family tree as well. Interesting.
We both like history and find some of those shows enjoyable.
Morning folks, was sooh tired went to bed at 9.30, so been up long enough to do dishwasher, make tea, sort washing. Youngest grandsons birth day today, made the cake,X box, just got the controller to make today. Ergates, often when you kids get stomach pain,it's migraine. I rarely get a headache (post vaccine, NOW you're talking,!!) but I used to get s tiny patch of my face, near the right side of my mouth, tingle, then go numb, everyone said "cold sore", turned out to be a migraine. Hoping for good day for everyone on here.
Our new marquee is up, very sturdy, covers the whole deck and is very high so you don't feel enclosed, very pleased with it. No time for photos yet, I'll try today, although I have bunting to hang on it yet. It does come with sides, which we haven't attached yet, but a good option for the winter months.
Lovely day yesterday and last day of school for lots of college students, so milkshakes and ice creams all afternoon, they are loving my new recipes; Iced Pina Colada Milkshake in picture below, this is the adult version, also popular, with a shot on the side.
Must dash, lots of prep to do before we open at 10am.
Good morning all 🥱 ☕️ awake cos OH set the alarm as he wants to whiz down to W’rose before the crowds … however we were awake in the night … woken at 2:30ish by at least six police cars next door and going slowly up and down the rise and nearby roads shining torches etc … then NDN was in her garden in a dressing gown in the drizzle moving things into the house. That all carried on for a while then they suddenly sped off. No idea what was going on … most unusual goings on for our quiet leafy cul de sac which is off another quiet leafy cul de sac off yet another quiet leafy cul de sac. They were obviously looking for someone on foot. Next door has scaffolding up and it’s not obvious someone is living there … maybe she’d heard someone trying to gain access to the house … or maybe there’d been an incident on the A road and someone had legged it across the marshes and ended up around here … that did happen once a long time ago apparently … who knows? Will we ever know?
The police were speaking to NDN at the front door, and her lights were on, but she’s a very quiet person … not the sort I’d go round and say ‘so what was all that about?’ … but if I see her over the weekend I might ask if everything’s ok. She’s only staying there cos she’s tidying it up ready to sell … it’s her late father’s place.
Anyway … much unaccustomed excitement.
Other excitement in the household was a phone call yesterday evening from OH’s sister who’s had a letter from a solicitor who is trying to track down the beneficiaries of a chap who turns out to be possibly a third cousin on their late father’s side of the family … given that MIL confirms that she was aware of this chaps existence and he used to send Christmas cards but they stopped a few years ago and she couldn’t track him down, it looks as if it might be genuine and not a scam, which had been his sisters’ first thought. Wonder what they’ve been left … a Caribbean island might be nice … 💰 🏝
… and I could’ve spent the evening watching a goalless draw ….. or GW. …. Just as well I’d recorded at least one of them 😂
PS … you snuck in there @D0rdogne_Damsel (waving frantically) oooh that’d nice this evening when we’ve had our pizzas … have a good day 😎

Morning all. Overnight Friday rain for you as ordered @chicky. Omg that pina colada milkshake looks good and perfect for summer. Lots of happy teens lol
I’m still wondering what jobs to do today - got a specsavers eyesight appt for little one and have to open the laptop and get some voluntary office work done for church and do some homeschooling prep with youngster but hope to clear some borders too.
Yes it’s a chat thread … faster moving than this one usually is and they sometimes have quizzes and stuff … I think it started with one thread and then they ‘resurrected’ it … and now they keep on resurrecting it so they’re Rezzers 😆
