Good morning all, overcast and looking like rain but no rain or thunder overnight. Have a safe journey @Busy-Lizzie, it's a long journey and can feel quite tedious when you are on your own. I had a chat with my sister yesterday, the one who's husband caught Covid in hospital and died earlier this year, it would have been their 50th wedding anniversary this Saturday so she doesn't want to be on her own so has asked one of her sons and family to come and have the Christmas dinner that they didn't have as it was all still in the freezer! I thought that was such a lovely idea.
Morning all , didn't hear thunder last night but definitely rain ( albeit having barely slept the night before it would have had to have been a huge storm to wake me properly) -- muggy and drizzly -- heavy rain in theory tomorrow -- hopefully will get a clear enough window to stake some stuff this afternoon -- glad I cut the very full rose yesterday for indoors , the other roses seem to have flopped where canes had flowers vs buds. Chalking it up to experience that sheltered-from- wind-no-stakes-needed means different things when branches aren't laden with flowers ( or heavy fig leaves/fruit!) and when they are!
Listening to R3 this morning and caught this, from Peggy Seeger's new album out this week ... Brilliant ... talk about hitting the nail on the head ... worth spending a couple of minutes enjoying ...
The promised downpours keep getting postponed here. I'm nearly out of stored rainwater so my blueberries will appreciate any rain when it finally arrives.
Going to get the lawnmower out today but will be leaving some of the 'wild' areas to carry on the good work
Morning all. Lovely for the garden to get a good soaking. I was out for the count last night but I did have to get up for a wee and saw a flash of lightening and heard a roll of thunder before zonking out again. Water butt is full again - yay! Humid now though, but good to have a day to catch up with a number of tasks I have on the go. One of them is working with the local dial-a-ride community bus people - we are looking at having a regular route on market days to bring people who are isolated in the local parishes into town and back. The grant application has gone in... Lovely rainbow @AuntyRach - and thank you for your sympathy @Busy-Lizzie. I am now wishing I had asked for anti-biotics as I did have infection and can feel that I still do.
Hi @didyw ... ouch! can you give the dentist a ring and say you think you need some antibiotics? better now than later on ... with the weekend coming etc. ... you must've had more rain than us (I think you often do) ... our butts have water in, but they're not full ... yet ... I think t(hope) here's more to come ... we didn't hear a storm but OH says he thinks he saw a flash of lightning ... sometimes the storms here over Norwich are pretty dramatic ... someone told us that they tend to track the rivers and of course we have the confluence of the Wensum and the Yare just down the road so if there are two stormy bits happening apparently they merge and hang around for a while ... of course, that may all be nonsense ... but I will admit storms here, when they happen, seem worse than the ones I was used to down in Suffolk.

Or better Dove? I love a good storm. Dentist only there on a Wednesday. I'll keep an eye and if the worst comes to the worst I'll chase him up - the practice also operates in Halesworth. But - woes always come at once don't they - I may not have a car for a few days. It's going into the garage tomorrow for them to look at the clutch which appears to be leaking fluid. We had a trip into Norwich on Saturday to visit an art exhibition (not the Grayson Perry - couldn't get into that, but Easterly Artists) and it was quite hair raising as with all that stop start traffic going from 'our' side round to St. Andrews car park I was having trouble moving constantly from 1st to 2nd gear and the pedal remained on the floor sometimes.
Poor didyw. As long as you are 24 hours post extraction, and the blood clot in the socket didn’t get disturbed in that time, start the hot salt mouthwashes, they’ll really help. Take some painkillers as needed, and hopefully it will quickly start to settle down. If it starts to get a lot worse instead of improving, and if you start to get a raised temperature, then contact your dentist. Bit early to tell if antibiotics needed yet.

Quick pop in, as ever busy either in the Tearoom or organising the tearoom.
I have managed a quick read back, good luck with the journey @Busy-Lizzie, it will be so lovely for you to see OH.
I think we have a downpour coming this afternoon, but at least we can use indoors now.
This evening the new marquee is being erected, it came at last..... might be a long evening, especially if the rain goes on longer than expected.
Must dash, a Carrot cake to bake for a takeaway.
Next week we have a table of 29 booked, that is going to be fun....at leastthey have boked and ordered in advance.
Take care all. xx
