    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    HOW VERY DARE IT/
    Just chased a deer from about 20 feet from the back door.
    Deer love eating Hostas so up with that we shall not put.
    Mercifully it ran out the gate and down towards the farm and NOT down into the garden.

    Morning folks,been up an hour, dishwasher done, not enough washing to worry about. Old daughter came for lunch yesterday, only seen her s few times this year,and only when I be popped in to the supermarket where she works,shes in Kent an hour away works shifts. I knew how it would pan out do I didn't stress.up at 6.30 out in garden check the green houses, water,you know how it is, threw clothes on (, thought I'd worry about shower and hair later) dogs to park, council tip big queue and still 2mtr rules there. We bought an incredibly heavy stone windmill there for a fiver. Then nursery.quick sit down coffee,tidy up,made asparagus quiche and. chocolate cake strawberry topped. Daughter arrives in short out in the garden,new pergola,strips off to her Cossie,gets flaming phone,sits texting. I serve lunch,tidy, wash up, eventually get on the shower after the grandkids. Grandson, almost 10, flooded the bathroom, said he didn't realize that the shower curtain has to be INSIDE  the bath!! So, another. Quiet day at the coalface!

    Bet you’re counting the days @Hostafan1 ....such a cute smile 😃

    We seem to have lost our sunshine 🤔.  Today is a volunteering day, so don’t know yet what will be in store.

    your shrub border could end up being a bog border @D0rdogne_Damsel 💦💦💦. We’d have no choice but to get it fixed as we are on a water meter ££££.  Wish the water company would be as quick to sort their own leaks out 🤣

    Not watching SB, but am enjoying Springwatch.  That footage of the kestrel keeping its head motionless, whilst everything else quivered around it, was amazing 😉

    I used to drive through Selbourne to work and there was a leak by a garden gate. They had a blackboard  saying " We reported this leak to South East Water X days ago" .It was over 2 months during a hosepipe ban before it was repaired.

    Dove. I’ve dragged it out of the cupboard and  taken a photo.  The music with it calls it a Guitar-Mandolin-Banjo, so I don’t know why Mum called it a Zither. Seems I’ve been calling it by the wrong name all these years. 🤭. Anyway, it weighs a lot and there is no woodworm. Sorry if I’ve led you astray.

    @Pat E
    I've just googled "zither" and many of them look like yours.
