All this talk of teeth is making me feel decidedly uncomfortable - but I must phone the dentist and get my wobbly one sorted out. I solved a problem just by beginning to talk about it here! It's my pot of Fashion Monger dahlias I didn't know what to do with. Their original pot has something else in it now (sneaked in while they were sleeping in the outhouse!), but they have to come out of the plastic pot as they are growing away nicely. So I've decided I will lift the orange & red tulips in another pot, pop them in the plastic pot to properly die down and put the Fashion Mongers in that pot! Had a happy discovery today - the rosa banksiae has a blackbird's nest in it! The blackbirds have been gathering up food for their babies for ages, but I didn't realise the nest was in our garden until I was working on that side of the house and heard the babies cheeping. Can't see the nest - that's a good thing.
Feeling relieved that Son 2 is a dentist! But he has a 4 month waiting list. He usually manages to fit me in at lunchtime.
Don't think I mentioned the moth that flew into my bedroom last night, it flew very energetically and clumsily around my bedside light. I turned the light out, hoping it would settle down, and it flew into my hair. I looked it up this morning, a Garden Tiger Moth, not uncommon. Internet photo below.
I weeded the raspberries before having late lunch, but then it got too hot for weeding. After lunch I mowed the grass around the veg garden area.
The builder turned up to do a couple of finishing off bits in the utility room and I gave him his huge cheque. It was a big job and I'm pleased with it.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Along with never using hair conditioner, I've never seen a hygienist about my teeth
Neither had I until a few years ago, but the older and more 'long in the tooth' we become as gums begin to recede, the more difficult and yet more important it is to deal with plaque etc ... until Covid I would see the dentist every six months, and the hygienist halfway n between ... the result was a huge improvement in the conditiion of my poor old gums etc. Your still a youngster 😉, but the time will probably come @Hostafan1, when you too will feel the benefit of the hygienist's attention.
Haven't seen a Garden Tiger for a few years @Busy-Lizzie ... lucky you

I agree with you @Dovefromabove. Apparently you can develop heart problems in older age through poor gum hygiene so I make it a regular appointment. Mind you at £116 last time for two appointments (dentist and Hygienist) it was a bit of an 'ouch' moment, and that was only my wallet hurting. Don't envy you the back molar extraction though.
I had a brainwave at lunchtime. I've got a biggish trough outside the front door which needed replenishing so I hooked out the tired orange violas and have planted lots of my wild flower plug plants, trying to turn it into a wildflower haven - no idea if it will work however. I ended up with far more plants than I've got room for. After a dull and very overcast day, it's ended up with a beautiful sunset so I really ought to do some watering but am much too tired after a rubbish night last night. I can sympathise with the large cheques @Busy-Lizzie, we've just paid a hefty deposit for our new carpets. I'm going into panic mode already - where are we going to put everything? All wardrobes, chests, cupboards and bookcases have to be emptied ready for the men to move them.
Sitting in bed listening to a blackbird and songthrush trying to outdo each other ... absolute magic ... up early tomorrow as George us going to get his air con regassed ... so night night all ... sweet dreams ...

I’ve never seen one of those moths before. Really beautiful.
We are getting ready for the predicted snow/hail/rain session that has been predicted for our area later today. Got lots of firewood in wheelbarrows near the back door. 😁 at least that area has a roof over it.

I have a nice couple coming tomorrow to help get books and things down from the loft.
