Rained all yesterday which was great, today is lovely and sunny.
Need to keep myself busy today as starting to get into a fug about the funeral tomorrow. We have got our allowed 30 people at the church [ no singing allowed, which is a shame, as Mum had selected her choice of hymns ] and then just the 8 of us at the crematorium.
If anyone is looking for a good film to watch, from this years Oscar shortlist, I can recommend The Sound of Metal, Riz Ahmed is a great actor.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Morning all and good luck at the dentist @Dovefromabove. @punkdoc -- I've been prevaricating about it ( big Riz Ahmed fan but wasn't sure the subject matter would be great for me - i'm pretty tone deaf) but will give it a go on your endorsement!
Morning all 😀. Just done a garden inspection and everything we planted yesterday seems to have survived it’s first night in the ground. So french beans, pumpkins, squashes, sunflowers, amaranthas, gaura and penstemons should all now be ready to romp away 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Off to Bournemouth now to see Chicklet. We have all registered for Beryl Bikes (like Boris bikes) so are hoping to do a mini cycle tour, then off to a Greek restaurant this evening 🇬🇷
Dove, hope your watch battery replacement goes ok. I took mine in last year, and as the guy was rather busy, I told him I’d come in later in the week and pick it up. And then we went into lockdown! I finally collected it at the end of the last summer. It had been in the safe for months, and when he got it out to give it to me, was tut-tutting that the other guy hadn’t put the date right. Didn’t occur to me till later that it had been in the safe over an extra leap year day in February, and the change to summer time, so it was probably correct when Id meant to collect it!
Afternoon all, my you were all busy and chatty yesterday. I was too, rather naive of me I know but when SD said yes we're ready for the plants, I thought they would have prepared some of the beds . I was still digging stinging nettles out of a veg raised bed at 7 pm🥵
Well ... as I suspected the dentist found some work for him to do. I’ll be going back in a couple of weeks to see the hygienist for the session that was cancelled in March last year, then in July I’ll see the dentist again for an extraction and a filling £65 the lot. He did say he could do a crown instead of the extraction, but it’s an upper molar towards the back, the rest of my teeth are fine ... it won’t show when I smile, so I said I’ll be happy with the simple extraction.
It was strange being back in the city .., Norwich is always full of such interesting people. 😎
OH took my watch to the taciturn chap at the ‘other’ watch stall on the market as my preferred one wasn’t open ... anyway he seems to have done the job ok. Nice to have my ‘smarter’ watch usable again.
Then I took OH to see the new farm shop I’ve discovered and we got some fruit and veg and ice cream. 😋
Now to see what you lot have been up to ..,

Dove I had a finger over part of your post,I read you were going to the dentist t.o get a battery fitted. I thought hum electric teeth. Apparently, for professions, suicide is unfortunately highest in Dentists. I had 2 emergency dentist appointments last year, they recalled me,but it clashed with the vaccination. I have to make another appointment,BUT also need to see GP, don't know if I can cope with both. I am severally Dental phobic!!
