Enjoying your garden tour. Such beautiful flowers, vibrant colours and great combinations. No wonder I was having tea in your garden in my dream. Perfect 😍
Your camera is better than previous one. Captures everything in true colours.
@newbie77 ..thank you newbie, that's so nice.. and you are very observant as I agree, my new camera takes a much better picture..
..some evening photos.. ..even the opening buds on 'Botzaris' are scented, and very nice too.. C. 'Daniel Deronda' on the Beach garden.. I'm irritated by that fence in the background, as plants are a bit slow to cover it.. Dry Garden... Parahebe 'Porlock'... very easy going plant.. ..pretty opening bloom on 'Bon Silene' [Tea, 1834]...
Well, Eustacia Vye, isn't it about time you opened? I mean love, how much sun do you need?.. perhaps she was made for California.. maybe tomorrow?.. lovely though..
Lovely photos @Marlorena and such colour in your garden! Your lavender is even out, mine's not even showing buds yet. I agree, Carmen Wurth looks absolutely stunning.
@Marlorena thank you for sharing your garden and your experience. I really enjoy reading your posts and seeing your photos:) Do you have Munstead Wood in your garden?
@Oliya ..yes I do, I have 2, both are 'own root' so very young baby plants, but one of them has 2 fat buds and I think they may open tomorrow, or very soon..
.. I used to have 3 grafted plants in a group but I decided I did not like the growth habit so I removed them, but kept 2 stems that had roots on them... I have heard it grows better 'own root', so I'm trying that out.. this is a photo from last year..
@Marlorena that MW is absolutely gorgeous! What exactly was it that you didn’t like about the plant? I’m just trying to decide whether it’s worth getting MW if it ever becomes available again. I love the colour of the flowers but I’ve read quite a few negative comments about the bush itself…
@Oliya ... as you see in the photos below, the Spring foliage is gorgeous, richly tinted and colourful.. but you will notice the big thorns in quantity, they kept catching on me, and the growth habit I found lopsided and lacking in any kind of grace.. the blooms are wonderful, the plant as a landscape shrub leaves much to be desired..
The 2 plants I have now are relocated elsewhere so I'm hoping they won't bother me too much but where the blooms will stand out.. What do you think? it should be available to buy this autumn I believe..
@Marlorena Hmm… ideally I would’ve like to see MW in real life. I’m sure it would’ve helped me to make a decision. But with all the talk about it being discontinued I feel it may be my last chance to get it this autumn. On the photos the bloom colour is something like I’ve never seen before. So I’ll most likely get it. Even if I’ll be disappointed, I think it’s better than to feel that I’ve missed out…
@Oliya ..oh gosh yes, do get this rose..snap it up as soon as you see it available.. there's nothing quite like it in this colour and form, with continuous flowering and scent to match... we just have to adapt to its eccentricities, of which there are a few..
.. my 2 own roots are doing well now.. I was hoping this would open today.. maybe tomorrow.. ..this is my other one, a bit behind the other.. but look at the new growth, and I have a basal coming up bottom centre.. I'm already thinking this is going to be a better looking rose than the grafted one.. we shall see..
.. bit cooler today but very nice so far... not sure if rain is forecast.. .. as the most southern tip of my south bed, Dry Garden, which means it gets the fullest sun as soon as it rises, is Helianthemum 'Wisley Primrose' which is one of the very best of this type.. gone 10 yrs old and needs replacing, but still producing.. I couldn't be without this plant.. 'Lady of Shalott' producing loads of quite large blooms... this is one of my favourite Austins, as I just love the strong colour.. in the right setting.. ..on the Divide rail, some photos of 'Cornelia'.. a handily thornless Hybrid Musk rose, which stretches about 8 feet across it.. well foliated, pleasing growth..
