Wow, almost sensory overload! That ‘crazy in love’ bud is divine. Your garden has definitely come to life, it looks amazing. Thanks for the advice re, reine des violettes, I will be doing as advised👍
I just thought you would like to have a look at 'Chianti' as it starts blooming Marlorena. I should get a couple of days to enjoy these before the rain arrive and test's their rain tolerance.
Stunning roses as ever, Marlorena. I agree about the size of Golden Beauty’s blooms, they are big! Mine has recovered from a poor start and growing on really well. It certainly lives up to it’s other name ‘South Africa’, being unfazed by the heat.
Out of curiosity, why do you say ex-Roseraie Ducher, is that because they can no longer ship to the UK?

@peteS .. nice Chianti. Glad it's doing well for you.. I'd like to see a darker colour on it though, maybe the heat..?
@Nollie thanks so much.. yes, ex- just means ''from'' in this usage.. indicates the provenance in case anyone wanted to buy it, as it's not available in the UK of course.. so many of our roses were imported last winter, and I think it's useful to add that info.. as things have changed..
My computer broke yesterday.. the black screen of death and it has not returned, so I've had to get a new one.. lost all my photos by the looks of things, I usually back them up but can't find them... ..so now I have to take a whole lot more .. oh well.. c'est la vie..
..thanks Newbie.. I wouldn't know how to do that without specialist help, but no need, as I have found most of my photos saved to an extension drive I have, and the rest are all still saved onto the SSD card in my camera... I just have to sort them all out again..
..here's some for today.. 'Lady Mary Fitzwilliam' .. old Hybrid Tea.. 'Mrs Reynolds Hole'.. Tea, Nabonnand.. 'General Kleber'.. Moss.. a rose with a real perfume..
'Bathsheba' I like most when the blooms are just opening, or half way.. I think this rose and The Ancient Mariner have the most beautiful buds, part open, that I've had in any rose.. ..having a naughty smooch with 'Vanessa Bell', who doesn't look too keen..
'Forever Royal'.. which is in shade at mid day.. no filters used, the shade makes the rich colours almost as blue as you can get.. 'Scepter'd Isle' behind.. 'Gabriel Oak'.. needs plenty of water to maintain these blooms.. 'Queen of Denmark'.. still going.. and just gets better.. ..'Dr. O'Donel Brown'... 'Armada'.. first blooms with C. 'Niobe'..
Oh bummer about your computer, sorry to hear that, but glad you found your photos. We need a way of saving your Notes threads for posterity too!
Ah I see, yes EX makes sense, I ought to label some of mine [not available in UK] too. Hopefully, one day, they will sort put the import/export problems although, I fear prices will still rise as a result of the bureaucracy/added costs to the vendor. In return, no in-patent DA roses for me for the foreseeable.
