I like to walk around the garden with a highly scented rose bloom.. yesterday it was 'Jude The Obscure'.. irresistible.. 'Chawton Cottage' slowly making its way up the arch.. sending up a good basal I notice today... Anthemis 'Tinpenny Sparkle' in the Pebble Beach.. 'Armada' / C. 'Niobe'.. Geranium 'Patricia'...
..my scented rose today is 'The Wren'... 'Mme. Antoine Mari'... 'Heritage'... 'Amethyst Star'... 'Vanessa Bell'... ..I fiddled about with the filters..
Thalictrum rochbrunianum... Veronicastrum 'Fascination'... Achnatherum calamagrostis... .just love this elegant grass.. Aster frikartii 'Monch'... Clematis 'Valour'.. I think is rather nice..
I feel a sense of relief... I've been puzzled by this blue Geranium which I bought under the name of 'Johnson's Blue' which is a popular variety of long standing... my plant grows very tall and does not conform to what is stated about this plant.. I now believe it to be the meadow cranesbill Geranium pratense.. which grows to over 3 feet tall, and taller again in gardens rather than meadows.. mine is 4.5 x 3 feet.. I just measured it..
..rather cool and not much happening at the moment..
'Souvenir de St. Anne's' .. sweetly scented, semi double.. 'Nathalie Nypels'.. a fragrant polyantha.. ..the Enclosure looking a touch bedraggled.. Scabious 'Perfecta Blue' in the Pebble Beach garden.. Clematis 'Piilu'.. double and singles.. Geranium 'Russell Prichard' invading a Lavender...
Hi Marlorena I had a word with the council about the identity of the mystery pink rose, and they said it was called 'The Lady's Blush', which turns out to be a DA rose, and it does have striking similarities to the one in the photo I took. Well done the council...another one on the list.
