That is exciting news Busy. How long is it since you have seen your OH? Such strange times we are living in when families were isolated originally but being in another country - so near yet so far - must have been a real headache for you, especially knowing that a joint replacement is necessary. My sis-in-law is waiting for a new knee at the moment and next week she has to wear one of those blood pressure monitors for 24 hours.
It sounds as though your house is taking shape and having the assistance of the younger couple is a real bonus plus you are helping them too.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Had a good productive afternoon/evening left to my own devices. I had a inadequate 'cage' (with tatty chicken wire) protecting the raised bed with broad beans in. Okay to prevent any birds/animals trespassing but I've got rid of the chicken wire (OH will be pleased if/when she notices) and stapled butterfly netting to the frame I made last year. Looks pretty good, even if I do say so myself
I've started on the main raised bed (more tatty chicken wire on the way out!) and the fruit border as well (there was another minging feline deposit in there the other day ). Hopefully, by the weekend, all 3 borders/beds will be protected in a way that meets the critical eye of she who must be catered for
Then it's onto something to keep the birds off the blueberry and blackcurrant planters.
In terms of 'proper' gardening, I stuck to the earlier plan and planted out the dwarf French beans that were starting to run amok in their seed tray on the back porch windowsill. Also, put one of the loganberries in where I'd removed the dead, polka stick from.
Finished off with a good weeding session in the front garden - just to fill the garden waste bin a bit before tomorrow's collection
Biglad, I'm impressed with your restraint. I thought that you would be partying! Seriously, you have been working very hard so I hope that you are putting your feet up now for a while. Its my green collection day this Thursday hence my attack on the ivy and the bigger of my two bins is now almosr full.

Good morning everyone. Another super morning. Its handy brother's birthday today so will call him in a moment to wish him a happy day.
Hazel, I haven't heard any details yet so I don't really know about whether I will be restricted or not. Sorry you haven't found a mattress yet and well done for resisting the temptations at the GC.

Good Morning LB & Rubee and all to follow, LB Happy Birthday to handy brother 🎉🎁🎂🍺 hope he has a great day, Rubee Sorry to hear your OH has been poorly in the night, take care both of you, Busy-Lizzie What good friends they are to have, it must feel good to get furniture in place and boxes emptied from when you moved in. Fingers crossed for next week and your travel all goes to plan 🤞 Hazel Sorry to hear that your plans to see mum may be affected, I hope it wont be too long before you can see her properly again.
Chive, you have beautiful flowers in your garden. My alliums are already finished.
Hazel, I hope that your visit to dentist was well. You also have beautiful alliums.
After two days battle with grass, weeds and trimer I need one day off. I have break at the moment at school. It's pretty warm here and yesterday I even got sunburn. Forgot to apply protecting cream. Planning what prepare for lunch today, but it will be something simple. Most probable pasta with pesto.
