Hello Pauline. It may be localised as I am not having any problems at all. (kiss of death!) I have just signed in to Amazon.

I read it on BBC online as breaking news, maybe not as bad as they thought.

Hi folks. I’ve had to take my laptop in for repairs so I’m posting on the phone. Hate it as it’s so fiddly compared to a proper keyboard. Hubby is doing well according to his speech therapist. They will be coming in twice a week for the foreseeable. Have finally sorted out Sofolagy after having a minor breakdown on the phone. The old suite has been collected today and the new one will be coming tomorrow fingers crossed. Have a good day everyone

Super news about your OH Yvie. Did you manage to sort out the car taxation problem?
Its also good to hear that the company you are getting your furniture from have got their act together - finally. Are you perching on plastic garden chairs for now?

After All, What a lovely day,
LB Had to look Allium siculum up it’s really attractive, not at all like the Pom Pom Alliums. That’s a good job done trimming back the ivy, certainly is a favourite habitat for snails.
Debs I’m so pleased the wedding catering was a success and that he has more work that is excellent news for you both, especially now he can come home each night,
Hazel I’m glad there is no problem with the new crown, sorry you had a broken nights sleep hopefully some treats at the GC will be in order,
Bluebells They do have their favourite spots to sleep I wonder how they make their minds up where to go!, hope you have been able to tackle some of the weeds you spotted,
Yvie Sounds like your OH is doing well and will continue improving with this help. I’m glad you got your sofa sorted out too things hopefully are starting to look up,
Hello Pauline nice to see you.

    Have a nice afternoon everyone.

Just nipped back in for a long, cool drink. By echium it is warm out there!

I've finally written off the bare root raspberries that I got in December. They were over 3 weeks in transit with DHL being incredibly **** in all respects. I think 3 were dead when they arrived. The other two did develop a couple of tiny growths but seemed to get snuffed out by the cold snap we had. I felt like I planted 5 pencils in the ground for all the life they had in them! An e-mail of constructive criticism is on the way ;)

I'm going to use their space for a couple of loganberries and some more dwarf French beans as the batch I planted early has been pretty much wiped out by the weather.

On the plus side, my first attempt at broad beans appears to be going well and the strawberries have, literally, hundreds of flowers/fruits on the go :):):)

@Ladybird4 we paid and sorted the car tax the same day. We have a sofa in the conservatory so we will sit in their till the new furniture arrives. We just can’t watch tv but that doesn’t matter we can play cards. Chatting is still a bit of a challenge but we can always play charades.

  • Debs it will be great having your oh home every night after days away.  Time to relax.  Yvie I’m glad the speech therapy is going well it sounds like you have a good therapist and twice weekly.  Biglad it sounds like the timing of your strawberries will be just right.  Don’t eat them all while they’re away.

Lovely to hear good news about 2 OHs, Debs and Yvie. My OH went to Southwold today and drove his mobility scooter on the pier and the promenade, he had a good day but wished I'd been there and so do I. I'll see him on Friday next week, if all goes well. Booked the ferry and the Covid tests.

I bet you come home with a rose or two @debs64. David Austin's Rose Garden is so beautiful. I went there in June a few years ago.

I planted Alliums at OH's cottage in Norfolk, Purple Sensation and Nectaroscordum. I wonder how they are doing now. They were lovely last year.

My friends, N and D came to help unpack the loft today. They usually help people clean gites and do maintenance work. It's been funny times with Covid and not many gites have been able to be rented, owners stuck in England etc. So I said if they would be able to come and give me a hand with moving house and putting stuff in and out of the loft I would pay them something. Doesn't seem fair for friends who need to work for a living should come and help me for free, they are younger and fitter than me and need the money. Anyway, they've been a Godsend.

The study is now full of boxes of books. I started unpacking but it will be easier when I've painted the 2 bookcases that N and D got out of the loft, then I will see what size book goes where. I've painted the undercoat, run out of the light grey topcoat. There is more stuff to unpack into the utility room too, sewing stuff etc.

We've filled my car and the small trailer with yet more stuff for the tip/recycling centre. I'll take it tomorrow. We moved the wooden garden table and chairs out of the big car port barn onto the terrace and D has put together my new outdoor sofa and chairs which are on the lower terrace where it's shadier.
