I hope @Chivetalking's OH wasn't too upset after his stay on the "biggest car park in the UK".
Back from babysitting late this morning to find previous owner of my house, P, outside the wall strimming along the grass verge to the road and pruning the shrubs he planted there years ago.
I'm knackered after babysitting, the little grandsons have so much energy. E just 7, H, nearly 6, J, just 4, E, the only girl, just 2. I had brought presents for all and a birthday present for J so they were all excited yesterday. Then last night E said he had a tummy ache and I asked him if he felt sick and he said not yet and I'll go to the loo when I do. Suddenly, whoosh, sick all over the wooden floor boards of his bedroom and up the wardrobe door. Took me ages clearing it up and E had to sleep in H's room.
No school this morning, Wednesday no school for littlies in France, not half term here, so, of course they all woke up earlier than usual. I slept really badly. Yesterday I'd had to wake them for school. Breakfast was chaos, I couldn't find anything, the nanny was there early yesterday and she got the brekkies stuff out. I couldn't open the milk, cardboard carton with a screw top. Arthritic fingers not strong enough so I cut it (after a search for scissors). I couldn't lower the back of the high chair, knob too stiff, so that E could recline to drink her bottle of milk. Was glad when the Nanny arrived to sort everything. She had no problems with the high chair or its safety straps. I think I'm getting old. But the children are very sweet and they seem to love me, even though they told me that I must be very old as I have wrinkles!
Son 2 has just rung to say they are now out of hospital and baby C, another little boy, is settling into his cot at home. I love seeing them all but I'll be glad to spend tonight in my own bed!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Afternoon everyone. Another busy day and I'm finished in the garden now. I was stung by nettles and slashed by roses. Oh the joys of gardening. My soil at the bottom end of the garden is still a claggy (Ante - sticky and lumpy) mess so weeding is difficult. I don't want to remove all my topsoil! I got some of my hollyhocks planted out as well as crocosmia Lucifer, and red and white persicaria. I've cleared out a lot of my daffodil pots and left the bulbs to dry before replanting in the Autumn. I need to get my my bin sorted for collection tomorrow and then I can put my feet up ready to watch the Sewing Bee.
Oh Busy, what a time you have had of it - even down to dealing with projectile vomiting. I can understand your frustrations with arthritic fingers as I have that problem. For example, I can no longer peel an apple/potato using a knife. My hand won't assume the position at all. One reason I keep knitting is to try and keep the fingers supple. You put your feet up and have a lovely evening.
Handy brother will be glued to the TV tonight. SGL will your OH be watching the football and you too Biglad?
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Horror of horrors! I have just had an email confirming that VM is joining forces with 02 - one of the very WORST providers of anything! After all my past wrangles with VM I reckon it is time to look around for a new service provider! I need to lie down in a dark room with a wet cloth on my head!

Evening everyone, Another gorgeous sunny day. Had a lovely time with the poppets 😍 I won't say a word about The Pact @Busy-Lizzie Oh heck sounds a bit of a hectic day. Hope E is feeling better now. Why did the old owner come round and trim the shrubs Lizzie, bit strange, or did you want them done. @Ladybird4 yes OH is going to watch the footie 😉 @Songbird-1 Ooh what new series are starting soon, don't think I've seen any advertised. Hair cut tomorrow morning, it's got really long very quickly since the cut a few weeks ago.

Keeping them away from the 3 edible beds and 'allowing' the horrible creatures to soil the flower beds may well have to be the limit of my ambitions.
