He was a lovely man @Busy-Lizzie ... always keen to share his knowledge ... and with a sense of humour too ... but Susan and his horses always came first in everything he did.

Went to the pub last night for dinner with friends, first trip since March '20. It was good to do a bit of (still Covid secure) socialising. Looking forward to normal life soon. That pleasure was tempered more than just a little by an email from my sister when we got back saying she was in hospital with pneumonia. Life certainly has its ups and downs.

    Thanks all.
24 hours early, which is wonderful, means I get 48hours of celebrations.
Still hoping the weather may be good enough to go to RHS Bridgewater tomorrow.

That's lucky Punkdoc, Happy Birthday for tomorrow anyway and do hope you get to RHS Bridgewater, it looked fantastic on the TV recently.

We've only just got going, we're tired today after two long journeys. Just went to put the runner, dwarf French beans and peas outside to start hardening them off, thought, brrr.... that's a bit parky and checked the temperature, it's only 12.5 out there! so hastily bought them back into the porch again.
I wanted to do a bit of preparation/tidying up as the landscapers are arriving tomorrow to start the new path so it looks like a 2 fleece job. It's forecast heavy rain again as well, I'm so fed up with this weather.
Hope 'George' behaves himself Dove, how very exciting for you.

Happy birthday for tomorrow Punkdoc. Bridgewater sounds amazing!
Can we have a picture of George please @Dovefromabove?  Where are you going for your run out?  There is a new sculpture exhibition at Houghton Hall.  We went to the Damien Hurst one, took the granddaughters and enjoyed it very much.  Although not fans of Damien Hurst it was good to be able to see the art up close and then scoff.

Hello again ... we're back and have just had a crab and avocado salad for lunch.  George was great ... there's a lot of electronics computery stuff  to get to grips with eventually but the basics all seem to work well ... he's certainly enjoyable to drive ... much more direct and responsive ...  unsurprisingly Lola handled like a bit luxurious cruising convertible, George is smaller, more direct and responsive, nippier and with a bit more ooomph.  Very enjoyable to drive.
We went to Southwold ... the world and his wife were all there ... most of them on bikes ... how on earth did we miss that this was going on this weekend?

Sorry to hear about your sister @steephill ... I hope she makes a good recovery very soon.

Happy birthday to Mrs @Allotment Boy  🎂

    Here he is @didyw

He looks a bit taupe in the pic but he’s actually ivory.

Anyway, we got some lovely fresh fish from the harbour ... a large piece of thick cod ... enough for two very greedy people ... a large side of smoked haddock, a couple of pieces of skate (large again, of course) and the crab ....... all for £23. All except the crab are now in our freezer ... the crab is in our tums. 😋

    Afternoon all.

    Nice motor @Dovefromabove 🚗

After yesterday’s respite, the rain is back today. It seems we have a run of warm, fine weather forecast end of next week for a week 🤞🏼

Hope you are all having a pleasant Sunday.

Hello @AuntyRach, good to hear from you. Has work quitened down a bit now? I'm cheesed off with the rain as well, we're just the other side of the Bristol channel from you I believe. I only got halfway through my gardening job this morning because of the rain - so annoying.
All that lovely fish sounds scrumptious Dove, apart from the crab of which I'm not a fan.
Enjoy your day @Allotment Boy, happy birthday to your wife.

Night all. Eurovision finished 😳.  It took soooooo long for them to give us the final count.  Also I didn’t like the winning  Italian song or presentation. I think I’m getting too old for that type of music. Sigh!  I was ready for bed ages ago.
