Thanks @Marlorena. I wondered if it was scorching. I'll do as you suggest and pick off the sad leaves. I love the flowers on Desdemona so i hope they do recover! Will try to be patient 😂😂

@Mr. Vine Eye  nice video.. I would suggest to make one when the roses are in their full glory/blooms

@Marlorena I hope so.. was worried if it was something else as this rose was the one affected badly..

@Katsa Even I used to apply foliar feed early in the season and some of my roses do have them..  now it makes sense..

@hibberdv from the looks of it, it does not look like a sucker.. its just your rose throwing up a new big shoot.. most of them does that every once a while.. A better picture would have helped..

I'm very much enjoying everyone's roses and feeling very envious because although I have plenty of buds, nothing seems near actually flowering yet! Here in the frozen north I might even be behind you @Victoria Sponge , @SeahorseFriend and @Katsa !  Still, its fun taking bets on what might burst into flower first...I reckon currently its between my old climber 'Meg' and new 'Chartreuse de Parme'. Knowing my luck, they'll probably appear just as we go on holiday at the end of next week!

Great video @Mr. Vine Eye and I especially love your deep and moody Minerva @edhelka ...that might have to go on next years list!

@cooldoc How do you get your sweet peas to bloom this early in the season? We’re they autumn sown? When did you plant them out?

@Mr. Vine Eye great that you have dahlias in flower already. Mine are so far off...

@celcius_kkw Sweet peas were autumn sown and planted out since February... Not sure if its the variety... first time for me to grow them..

@JessicaS my first bloom was on may 29th, even before my roses opened.. I thought they were early bloomers..

The ones in the video are my bishop's children dahlias grown from seed. I had flowers buds on them in April. They must flower a bit earlier when started from seed, and kept in sheltered conditions,  as opposed to grown from tubers. Some of them are much smaller though.

The leaves have gone very deep purple since moving outside.

One of my roses which isn't looking so great is Emily Bronte. She didn't suffer too badly from being moved. But she did have a few weeks pause in growing. So she's got a lot of small leaves that are starting to look tatty. But also some good new strong growth. I might take the old ones off.

You can see a few giant newer leaves at the top of the plant, she looks very odd and out of proportion. I'm sure she'll look great in a few weeks though.

@Mr. Vine Eye, I enjoyed watching video of your garden. Birds were giving perfect background sound with it. In a video everything comes to three dimensions. Loved the garden and you have done great job with plant combination. Looking forward to second episode of it once more roses and perennials come into bloom.

@Fire, my dahlias are way behind too. Some have couple of leaves, some are not even showing any sign of life. May be they have turned into mush.

One question on aster monch. Should I pinch them? Mine are growing from plugs but aren't looking bushy enough.
