...if anyone likes orange climbing roses, this one has recently been released by Fryer's roses... showing today at Hampton Court flower show... apparently it has a strong sweet scent too..
Your CdeP looks better than mine @Tack, you have a way with potted roses.
@owd potter yes could be multiple insect life there as edhelka says. Is that a pot within a pot? I do that too, for extra insulation from the sun in my case. I took the inner pots out of several yesterday and put them on a table to more easily despatch the critters. I also found earwigs living in the damp environment between the two pots, so that explained my chewed buds!
Sorry about the rain/humidity damage everyone. Meanwhile my soil is like a dustbowl and we are in desperate need of some proper rain, got about three drop overnight!
The Prince has some nice blooms, which will be easier to see when I get around to training it as the climber it wants to be. A chair currently required to photograph the tallest clusters:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@Marlorena Orange - climbing rose.. will be interesting to see it in bloom.. I think even Harkness released an orange rose with strong scent..not a climber though.. and if they say strong, then its strong.. can trust those guys...
Lovely blooms.. wanted to ask some about their roses.. by the time I got to the last post I forgot who had what... and lazy to go back all the way and search..
its raining almost always.. everyday.. so had to hold the branches up to take the pics..
I like the red.. Trish.. well scented.. unfortunately the bugs love them too...
Rachel.. rain resistant..
Harkness bred- Well being.. alternative to Lady EH, IMO.. upright with similar strong scent..
and.. the Lady...EH..
kordes roses.. summer romance/lovely parfuma and Grafin diana
Austins.. Gabriel Oak, Young lycidas and Boscobel..
I like the Cinnabar Moth @cooldoc The Twilight Zone rose is on my maybe list, with Desdemona , and even the climbing orange Down Memory Lane that @Marlorena has shown us.
Thanks you @Tack I'll look it up. Not sure if I need to be a member of HMF but will see what I can do.
Thank you so much @Fran IOM, that rings a bell. I think I might have had that one on my list before!
Only a Bouquet of the Day from me. Garden needs a post rain tidy-up, stick thwacking and deadheading. Some fresh Walferdange sprigs, a mini Munstead and a battered Hot Chocolate that had somehow snapped off.
@Victoria Sponge You need to be registered (basic member, free) but not premium (paid). Premium gives you a full parentage tree (where available) and more options in the advanced search.
