@cazsophieq2019 Because it is a modern rose. If it is a shrub/bush rose, then the chance for it being a once-bloomer is almost non-existent. Most modern climbers also repeat but many of them could be slow to repeat. From your photos, I would say it could be a climber.

Ah OK, so there's a chance there may be more blooms this year?
I'm afraid I didn't deadhead correctly as only took the blooms off and not their tail stem.
Thank you all for all the ideas on white roses. I will look into them all, but that said ...knowing me I will change my mind 10 times before settling on my first thought of tranquillity!, ...only to then change the colour scheme at the 11 hour! What ever I decide on... I'd better get cracking at making the new bed!
'Purple Skyliner' is such a useful semi rambler, continuous bloom... and should be better known, yet people will still buy 'Veilchenblau' because of its romantic name..
I’m so glad you recommended it @Marlorena. I’m considering a big change to the climbing roses by my front door and in the back. I like these open smaller blooms.. I think their scent wafts more.
I grow Susie and up close it smells very strongly but it doesn’t carry.
I’m thinking of taking her up and replacing her with either purple skyliner, ghislaine or alibaba.
But I don’t know if I’m being rash. Susie has gone all bare around the base so I’m a bit fed up with it.
