@neal.tracyUNu6Q-Ll ..Hiya.. great to see you here too... if you get the time please tell us the names of the roses you have for this year... I'm longing to know..
Hi there Marlorena! I have Boscobel, Alnick Rose, Roald Dahl, Olivia Austin, Eustacia Vye, Princess Alexandra of Kent and finally Lady of Shallot. Admittedly all David Austin roses but I was/still anxious about leaving the house and the thought of a packed out garden centre scares me. So mail order it is for the moment.
..all lovely roses.. all grown here by various members, so we can all compare as we go along.. ...I know what you mean by mail order, I get everything that way at the moment... I'm one of those ''vaccinated, but not going out'' people..
@Watsonia ... lucky you to spend an evening at Wisley... delighted that Canary Bird caught your attention... a brief flowering season, but spectacular when in full bloom, and with ferny foliage to go with it.. there's one down the road from me but I've not checked it out this year, so good to see your picture..
Welcome @TracyP, very glad you plucked up the courage to join in. The only one I have of those is Lady of Shallot, might get a bit bigger than you expect, just to say! I started off with David Austin roses too, many of us do 😊
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Hi @TracyP Nice roses. I have 2 of those, Boscobel and LoS, the latter is new this year. I have a love/hate relationship with Boscobel. The scent is gorgeous and wafty, the plant's habit is irritating, it has both really stiff tall canes with large blooms on the ends and short weak ones with droopy mini flowers. But it is not very mature either and I hope will improve.
I just received 2 very good DA specimens Desdemona (left) and The Lark Ascending.
ooh, I chanced it and for the first time in ages a portrait format photo came out upright.

..I have 14 clematis and the first to open is always 'Guernsey Cream'... this is fully 3 weeks late from previous years..
