I know what you mean @newbie77; with everything being so late this year and all coming on suddenly, combined with more purchases due to garden fever last year, it is a feast. I like many of the illustrated roses very much indeed but cannot even think of a wishlist before being overwhelmed.
Just found a first Strawberry Hill, also Pearl Drift opening rapidly, first full Boscobel bloom and the new obelisk showing top brace with Eglantyne in foreground, (it is sunk 55cm @Marlorena).
@Omori, Olivia Rose is a very crisp fresh pink, I love it. I watched a tv programme a few months back ( it might even have been GW) where they visited gardener Hellon Dillons new garden and she said that if she had to choose only one Rose to grow it would be Olivia Rose, high praise indeed from that lady!
Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.
@Bright star yes, it is, horrid little b*****. You'll be able to see the `scar` on the stem where it has excavated to lay its eggs. Try and get a finger nail in to scrape them out, and keep an eye out for any larvae hatching. They look like tiny little caterpillars, and eat from the edge of the leaves in.
@Pianoplayer thanks for confirming that. I’ve since found a couple of larvae and leaves that have been nibbled. Trouble is I’m away from home for a few days now and will be fretting about how badly my other roses may become infested, ah well, ho hum. I’ll be doing an inspection round tonight. We’re hoping to visit Peter Beales rose garden as it’s close to where we’re staying.

I went in the garden this morning to find my newly planted shepherdess lying on the lawn, along with all the soil from her planting hole. She had a dozen buds of varying sizes too 😥.I've replanted and watered well, but she isn't looking at all happy. I'm not too happy either 😥

Might have to put Diamond eyes on the wishlist too!
