Lovely roses @Eustace What is the red one in a pot 3rd pic from last?
@Nollie I meant to ask, how do you tell if you have a rose that you shouldn't deadhead down to a fiver? I have had a poor late spring too. Some heavy rain which luckily came at a good time for the roses but mainly very little sun and high humidity, more mildew around than usual as a result. Lovely today though so have been in the garden.
I assume the very dark Boscobel flowers are due to lack of sun, also Wollerton OH,Elina, Teasing Georgia
The Lilacs- Blue River, Odyssey with Chartreuse deP, Claire Marshall, DioressenceThe Rich- The Prince, Jingle Bells, Grafin Diana, Blackberry Nip and Rose de ReschtAnd of course @Marlorena was entirely correct and my very splayed Wildberry is now filling the middle with no 'help' from me.

@Tack, unfortunately I have lost the label. This rose has been with me at least 8-10 years, moved twice with me and has always lived in a pot. The flowers are bright vermilion/scarlet colour with black edges on some petals (don't know whether that is the nature of the bloom or some deficiency). Quite similar to the 'Trumpeter' posted by @Victoria Spongehere.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
Very nice and healthy @Eustace, good to know that can be achieved even after so long in a pot. I noticed quite how black the buds are on Grafin Diana this morning, I am failing miserably to photograph the dark colour of the bloom.
I don't have a suitable contender for Rose of the Day so thought I'd show current progress of the triangle bed which I've been adding roses to in an attempt to give summer interest. Previously was spring/autumn heavy.
Gallica off and Mousseline at front of first pic and The Poet's Wife, Rhapsody in Blue and Westerland towards the back. Three others hiding/not flowering. Westerland was a normal orange with occasional pink tinge last year, this year varying sunset shades. For saying it is so bright it doesn't seem to make a statement as yet but is only year 2.
Please could i ask if this leaf damage on my easy does it is likely leaf cutter bee or is this snail/slug related? i know / hope it’s too neat to be vine weevil ( spoke too soon yesterday re no pests although if it is the former I guess that's not a pest)
