That explains it, the garage is just a handy support structure for RR, then @Katsa! Actually, compared with the photos on HMF, I don’t think your Belle de Jour is right either, it’s described as  ‘yellow with apricot shading’. And the petal formation is a little different as well as the pink colour. I had it briefly from Agel rosen and it was the right rose, but it died horribly of disease/failed graft. Assuming I’m looking at the right photo, this one..?

Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

@Nollie I see now. I thought @Katsa meant this was BdJ.

@Nollie and @pitter-patter - that's LEH in the photo, so it's all very confusing! I may buy another belle de jour and compare. What's the scent like and overall health?

Edit: dig out my invoice (s) from TCL. Looks like they sent 4x boscobel rather than 3 and 1x belle de jour! Not to worry. I'll leave it where it is and consider BdJ for a pot. Mystery solved!,

I've been waiting for that @Omori, so sorry I gave mine away. I will be very interested how it gets on, particularly if you keep it in a pot. As time goes on I wonder if you'll agree with that DA chap that said it was his favourite scent on a DA rose, orange blossom is certainly one of my favourite scents of all.  Lovely colour too.
Not me asking about Stephanie d'Ursel @Victoria Sponge, at least I don't recall that and not a rose I could accommodate. Lovely, interesting garden you have.

RED ALERT!  The David Austin Bare root pre-orders are just open, and Lady Emma and munstead are both on along with others.

Having decided on lady Emma, I have ordered her.  I had decided against munstead because it has a big floppy habit and... and... oh somehow it ended up in my basket anyway.  That colour! Its beautiful.  I can resist it no longer.  It wont go in the back so Ive decided its going in the front in place of one of the vile scratty hedge plants thats in there I want to get rid of anyway and it can flop about to its hearts content out there, I'll just find something to go with it....

  • @Fire ... sorry I missed your post yesterday re my oval / even-edged cut outs on leaves , thank you for the thoughts -- I'm flummoxed but no further damage today so hopefully whatever it was has gone away.
Kindness is always the right choice.

@Desi_in_London I always welcome leaf cutter bees. It might just be my garden, but here it looks more like someone has been out with a large hole puncher.
