Oh I love the sound of that. Nearly all my favourite flowers are white. I planted Boule de Neige last year with the white sweetpea Cathy growing up around it and it's been magical, tempted to rip out half the garden and plant white things!!
@pandakoalagirl49lS9c8QR_ I’m like that too, the bits of my garden that are mainly white are my favourite, but it would mean replacing so many things so I don’t think I can do it 😩 Maybe if I were to move houses one day…
@JessicaS I need to finish the episode, I only watched the end bit but my garden is certainly a riot 😳
The White Garden was beautiful I agree @Omori. I only wish she had named some more roses other than the odd David Austin one though, but I often get frustrated watching gardening programmes when they don’t name the plants!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Speaking of white flowers, not a rose but my long awaited water lily ‘Gonnere’ finally opened. After my Labrador fell in and broke the first one while still in bud, I thought I’d be waiting until next year to see one so this was very welcome to see.
That is beautiful @Omari, how long before your lovely lab was forgiven?
Going with the white theme I am copying @edhelka. I did put Snow Ballet in a tall pot, it really needs it, it is pure white, no pink. Followed by another of edhelka's; Blackberry Nip
Which is just along the bed from Teasing Georgia which is slow compared to my other DA climbers, even though it is in the sunniest position furthest away from my root-infested perimeter. I had a lovely time at Peter Beales garden centre today. I’m sure it looks wonderful in June, when all the roses in the small garden are in flower. Nevertheless, it was worth the drive and I had a nice cake & tea as well.
I obviously bought some roses, though I have no space for them. Ebb Tide was on my wish list (what a beautiful scent it has). I liked the flowers on Night Owl so I got that too. I certainly didn’t expect to be so besotted with a yellow rose, but Leah Tutu… I just couldn’t resist.
I almost bought Edith Holden. What a wonderful colour!
Some other photos. I’ve seen this nice rose planted in their garden, it didn’t have a label, so if anyone could identify, I would be grateful.
Lovely photos all. My roses are still have a sleep. Although Royal Jubilee is starting second flush now.
That cane wouldn’t bend at all sideways, so I’ve pegged it for now, to stop it snapping. Just tied it to an empty vine eye lower down the wall.
Summer pruned the apple tree
Fruiting spurs 😁
This tree was my first bit of real gardening. I’d first noticed espalier fruit trees at Glamis castle and then spotted them everywhere we visited. Decided I wanted one myself. This was the first plant that went in to the garden after clearing it and my first real gardening project, very long term one!
Really it got me into roses too, as it’s what made me think about how we could use the walls and fences to grow plants and it was through researching options for that, that I discovered the concept of climbing roses.
See these tree posts are all relevant really when you dig down to it! 😉
@Omori, it’s all looking fab and floriferous. I love Agastache Black Adder, although it got toweringly tall here. I lost them to successive winters, so hope you have more luck than me!
Sadly not purple, but Ebb Tide is doing well to produce these large clusters in August:
