    It’s a five (or six?) spot burnet @Tack, lots around. Sadly not so with the hummingbird hawkmoths that emerged too early to find no food. The latter love the shrubby agastaches but they’ve barely got going even now.

    Funnily enough my Golden Beauty is not crisping, it’s in more direct sun than LEH. It’s meant to be be heat tolerant, which is why I bought it. It’s seems the only one of Kordes’ Sunbelt range released in Europe. Not sold on it yet, but early days.

    Your Boscobel is looking fantastic @peteS , those caterpillars are sawfly I think and will cause lots more damage.
    Very pretty @Eustace, it is such a shame they go over so quickly in this weather but wandering around them in the early morning is a delight I think.
    I am tracking my Golden Beauty out for delivery now. I had so many potted deliveries last year, this is probably my only one this year, I just love the anticipation of a full plant, better than expecting a bouquet of flowers. This is from Trevor White so usually very good but it was the last one in stock, so that worries me a bit. Excited

    @Tack
    I know; they seem to favour Boscobel over all the other roses for some reason, but I have been keeping them under control all summer and these were despatched with shortly after the photo was taken...but they'll be back.
