I don't have many white roses. My favourite is Desdemona. She can be a bit pinkish sometimes. Only drawback is she blooms so much that I get tired of deadheading.
Lovely roses everyone. I can't post much but I read the thread everyday and enjoy seeing photos.
@Victoria Sponge ..yes it will flower in a shady spot.. I know a garden on IG where it is grown that way, in the shade of a tree and seems to flower as much as mine does..
..mostly whites and creamy yellows today.. 'Desdemona'.. 'Champagne Moment'... this is new for me, but seems a good white-ish.. 'Vanessa Bell'. 'the Country Parson'.. 'Gruss an Aachen'.. 'Forever Royal'..
Thank you @Ffoxglove, if you mean the double rose and buds cluster, The Generous Gardener, the others in that collage are Strawberry Hill and Blackberry Nip.
Thanks @Tack - they’re all beautiful! I planted GG at my folks’ house and it’s going really well - bushy, floriferous… not very tall yet but I’m sure it will.
On the subject of climbers / how do you stop them getting leggy? I fanned my Susie climber out nicely ans assumed shoots would come from the canes but none did and it’s just flowering on the very ends. What am I doing wrong?
