That's what I did to my big pot. I'll gorilla tape it from the inside and outside then just turn it out of eye line. Could have been worse! At least I'm not scraping Desdemona off the drive.
@Mr. Vine Eye yikes but easily done, at least car and rose are ok! I was actually going to ask the group about rose suitable pots but youve answered my question there, I was looking at those ones in homebase!
If anyones looking at the new harkness, theres a 10% code in latest GW.
@Marlorena Im waiting for lady emma to come back in stock from Austin, says end may, be great if that was during free post! I adore munstead wood too but unless it can climb or be potted might be too big for me.
I gave up trying to keep the car pristine a long time ago, combination of dust and the novel parking/bumping method of the locals. I was in a rush one day and managed to reverse crash into a wall in a dingy underground carpark, which didn’t help! Glad the rose survived @Mr. Vine Eye.
@Marlorena Botzaris is really lovely and fresh, sounds as if it’s got a better fragrance than Mme. Hardy, which was, shall we say, underwhelming.
Couldn’t get the camera angle right here, but this single cluster of Stormy Weather is a tightly packed, perfectly round posey 25cm/10” in diameter - I counted 16 open blooms and there are a few more buds in there too. This rose never ceases to amaze:
La Rose de Molinard getting going, the blooms really glow in the sun and the heady grapefruit fragrance is superb (to my nose!):
Summer has arrived with a bang here, it’s 30.4c in the shade. A newly opening bloom on Purple Lodge has reacted by going intensely magenta:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Just a little corner of my mixed border, plenty of healthy green growth with loads of buds on Harlow Carr, I've got Ancient Mariner at the back growing well, I just hope it's vigorous enough to compete with all the other growth around it. Alas not much sign of flowers anytime soon.
As expected, my first, and currently only bloom, is from Claire Marshall. My mystery climber is blackspotting (if that is what it is) quite heavily In other news, Peonies looking good at moment.

I've tested it for you so no one else has to. Public service really 😅
'Botzaris'... [Damask/Alba 1856].. nice green button eye, sweetly scented of what I don't know.. potted/greenhouse..
Halimium libanotis..
..the garden has that early May look about it .. I'm a good 3 weeks adrift to what I'm used to here..
