Thank you @newbie77, that is very kind. The garden does some of the naturalistic planting itself to be honest but it seems churlish to pull out a pretty weed
@Nollie love that gorgeous border. @newbie77 ooh i think sceptered isle is what my neighbour has that I keep drooling over - is it quite sturdy and upright? My lady of shallot just out;

I'm really enjoying my efforts at making things more 'cottagey'. I usually can't grow foxfloves or hollyhocks because of the slugs, but have gone for pots this year. The flowers do make my heart lift. The softness of it all. - - This yr slugs have been attacking the dahlias and the even the self seeded borage, which is ununusal.

Diascia seems to a bit of a wonder plant in my garden. No good for wildlife, but tough as old boots, lasts for years, easy to take cuttings, bold colours and slug impervious.
I also have bathsheba with many buds but which have yet to open.
Alas I only have a small garden with a narrow bed. I actually phoned DA customer services and the purchased these three climbing roses on their advice. I think/hope they are good choices. They were planted as bare roots in November 2019.
I might not have many roses but I love looking at the pictures on this post.
This is quite a good before/after shot of how much much my established roses enjoy loads of water - like a dog sitting up for a walk. All my other roses are the same.

My DA roses are starting to open and I wanted to share some photos. They are making me so happy!
