Good morning Hazel and Ruby and all to arrive later. I woke up to a hailstorm this morning - could that be one of the culprits for your leaf damage Hazel?

The sun is shining as well so that is really odd. Off to see Bestie later. Now for my first nectar of the Gods.

  • Good morning Hazel and Rubee.  Hazel I hope you have a restful day and can catch up on your sleep tonight.  Rubee and Hazel it’s lovely listening to a blackbird sing it makes your day.  Hazel Alfie is sunbathing this morning and I was up at 6.30am to fill his bowl and give him some fresh water🙄.  It’s a bright sunny morning.

    Morning everyone,
Hope you managed to get back to sleep @Songbird-1 have a restful day.
It must have poured down all night, the garden looks absolutely soaked. The sun is trying to peek through the clouds at the moment, so hopefully a nice day.  Might tidy up the shed, need to find a spare hanging basket for OH's tumbling Toms.
    Time for tea and toast.
    Have a good day everyone

    Morning all,

We've had a bit of rain o/night. Everything is wet but the 'pond' is empty so it mustn't have been much.

Blue sky and sunshine now - another cracker ahead.

Best put the bin out and then start constructing the BBQ that I picked up yesterday ;)

Afternoon - very cold here again today - 6C on the car thermometer this morning 🥶

Been for my second jab - surgery was very busy with the vaccination clinic but very well organised. OH is going this afternoon. Didn't get to the nursery either today or yesterday - just too cold and wet to make walking round enjoyable. It is very much a nursery - no conveniences, coffee, cakes, cards, candles, chocolates or anything else beginning with 'C' that you seem to find in most garden centres these days. A few locally forged plant supports and planters and lots of plants and different composts - that's it. Lovely.

Afternoon everyone, this morning was sunny and we managed to get out in the garden. Tidied shed and found a couple ofspare hanging baskets for OH's tumbling toms. Potted on some courgette plants into bigger pots. It then clouded over and started to rain 🙄
I think I've lost a few plants of Ladies Mantle. Had quite a few dotted round the garden, can't see any. Or is it too early 🤔
We've got one of those nurseries nearby too. Family run and such a great choice of plants. Good prices too.
Hope you and OH don't have any reaction to your vaccines @Topbird
Skittle set will be popular with 23 @Songbird-1 the little ones love Paw Patrol don't they 🤗

Gone very dark again  and just started raining. Very mixed weather today.
  • Just finished ordering sm essentials after being for small sm this morning.    Topbird I’m glad you’ve had your jab.  Hope all ok for oh this afternoon.  Rubee tells me of an acer at the shop so may take a look in the next few days.  Lily handy to find spare hanging baskets.  The sun has gone in and quite chilly.  Biglad I hope you’re enjoying time in the garden.

I've had them years Hazel, I like the flowers for cutting to add greenery to vases of flowers. And love the way leaves look after the rain.
    Love Acers @bluebellsinthewild
Its very quiet on here today, perhaps they all have sunshine and are in their gardens.

Definitely not sunshine here SGL - just grey and cold.  I'm a fan of alcoholic mollies too. Find the flowers work well in summer posies and love the way the leaves hold on to water drops after rain. Mine have been very slow to get going this year but they are stirring their stumps now. An awfully long way off from the large clumps I expect to have for the summer.

Has anybody grown any of the geraniums "Eureka Blue", "Blue Cloud" or "Orkney Flame" or the helenium "Short & Sassy"? If so, are they well behaved and not too floppy? Struggling to find any of them in plant centres round here-  so might have to resort to mail order.

@Songbird-1 , Hazel - if your iPad is inserting letters etc you might want to check you have Predictive Text & perhaps auto-correct turned off.

Settings → General → Keyboard → deselect Auto-correct and Predictive text

Alternatively - you're probably just catching the 'm' or 'n' with your finger or nail when you're hitting the electronic space bar.
