Lily yes very quiet on here today.  Hazel I’m watching The Repair Shop they’re giving an old tram seat some tlc today.  The older lady who brought it is quite a character, bless her.
Afties all. Had a rather shorter visit to my Bestie's today as she was taking her Mum for steroid injections in her knees as these seem to be the only things that help her arthritis. I drove home in a dreadful sleet storm and it has just started off again here. It was very cold driving out 7°C and it has dropped down to 4°C. Decidedly brrrrr!
SGL, I have knitted Ted's legs, body and head from a pattern I have adapted to suit. Once I've got it all made up I'll take a picture. Glad you found the spare hanging baskets too. My Lady's Mantle hasn't put in a show yet, and I like T'Bird, like it for its gentle green colouring and the 'diamonds' that form in the leaves after rain.
T'Bird, good to hear both you and your OH have had the second vaccinations. Now you can look forward to your holiday. I grew Short and Sassy last year but didn't have a great deal of success with it I'm afraid.
RosieBB, did you give in to temptation and buy an acer? I am a huge fam of The Repair Shop but have to make sure I have my paper hankies close by at times.
p.s. meant to ask you Hazel if you are pleased with your light when it is dark outsde?
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
It's rained all day. There is a robin nesting in a cardboard box in the open sided barn, the wind has blown rain in and the side of the box is wet. Not windy now. I think I will have to put a barrier there of some sort, I daren't move the box.
I finished making the round rose bed yesterday. I'll plant the roses in autumn, they are in the veg garden. In the meantime I've sown pink escholtzias in it.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Well done Busy-Lizzie. I've a packet of escholtzia seeds to sow as soon as the weather eases a little. Mine are mixed colours though. I bet the pink ones will look just like silk when they flower. It would be nice if you were able to fix up some sort of a barrier to protect the cardboard box and you are right in not moving it.

LB couldn’t carry the Acer this morning as hands full, but I’ll pop over in a few days.  I’m glad you enjoyed time withBestie.  I hope the injections continue to help her mum.  You’ll be glad to enjoy safely back home and warm.
Oh Wow @Ladybird4 looking forward to seeing Ted 😊 I've just found this photo I took a couple of years ago of Ladies Mantle after the rain. I love the way it looks like jewels too.
Hazel, your alliums are going to be gorgeous. They look like the ones with big round purple heads. I am signing out for tonight people so I'll see you all tomorrow.
