Morning PR. Gosh I could have written your first paragraph as I have been watching my wood pigeons going into the neighbour's conifer in their front garden. Their nests always look such a mess of twigs that I do wonder how the eggs and chicks manage to stay safe. Good to hear your OH has had his vaccine call and a nice convenient venue too. PR as a relative necomer to Rez, you might have been somewhat baffled about terms we use. We decided early on that we tried not to talk about houseworking stuff so adopted daft terms for various appliances etc. etc.
Lily's TV got its name thus
The vacuum cleaner became the 'sucky thing' or more recently 'Noo Noo' and any mention of any form of HW would bring down the wrath of Colonel Tiny Tank (Col TT for short)
He comes in a few different disguises. I hope that this has cleared up anything you were confused about. You don't have to be mad to be on Rez - but it does help. We do try to keep things lighthearted.

Morning Ruby, you snuckered in there. Yes, I was a bit disappointed about missing meeting my friend but not to worry. We will have many more opportunities. Are you going to garden today?

Feel like I have a cold starting 🤧 I can’t remember the last time I had one though, so it might just be the recent temperature changes.

Morning all - just about to head outside to finish off the last of the homemade compost for mulching. Then I'm going to rebuild the compost bin which had a couple of chunks nibbled out of it last year by a rodent trapped inside (yuck). Very tough plastic - they're teeth are like chain saws. Fortunately I have a spare bin I'm not using so I'll rob some intact panels from that.

Then it's time to start this season's bin off. May cut the grass to get some grass clippings which speed up the composting process. Have a pile of dead stems, autumn leaves and stuff for shredding so I'll get a good start with the bin.

Good news on the vaccine front for everyone, Chive's mum's eyes and seeds / tubers sprouting everywhere. Not such good news for LB meeting bestie and for Rosie's ring - hope it turns up soon.

Chive - manoeuvre is one of those words I have to let spell checker complete for me (just had 3 goes at it...) - always get confused which way round the e o and u go!

    I've just spent £70 on plants - 🤫 - don't tell OH 🤭

OH was a bit under the weather earlier this week. He thought he might have a cold coming on but goodness knows where he could have caught it. I've heard of one or two others with similar symptoms.

All winter I've been remarking that nobody seems to have had a cold which I put down to lack of social contact and mask wearing. How strange that suddenly there's a rash of mild cold symptoms cropping up. Wonder if it's linked to the schools going back?

    Afternoon,
Topbird I must admit to using autocorrect, that has saved the day many a time. It most likely is a bug caught at school, a bigger number of children now it’s impossible to remain distanced in class. My lips are sealed on the plant purchases 🤐 just an early Easter treat 😉
Hazel We are coming out in sympathy with each other 🤧🤒 Its been horrible this afternoon windy, cold and showers, I’ve stayed inside and lit the fire.
    Have a nice evening everyone.

Afties all. The wind is getting up out there and I'm done gardening for today. Lots of primroses looking very cheery in the sunshine. Hazel, 'sco have been roliing out the traffic light system since last October and it all depends on what time you go and as to how busy it is. They use it at the 'sco I go to but going at the times I do I've never yet had to wait. They also have a person on permanent meet and greet door duty - presumably to ensure nothing goes wrong. There was a great young guy on duty when I went in last week and he was able to lift a bag of compost up from behind a huge stack of barbecue charcoal. I was too vertically challenged to stretch and lift!
