Lovely and sunny here today I managed to get to Ashwoods and bought a dwarf Rhododendron Steel Blue and a Rhubarb Victoria. I've planted both of them along with a couple of Lupins that have been in a pot for a couple of years.
Had a bit of a difficult morning. I noticed that my tablets were getting low and I hadnt had a reminder from boots. The GP website said it had been issued on 15th March so I went to Boots and had to wait an hour in a queue to be told that it wasn't ready and could I come back in half an hour. I'm afraid I said that I had waited long enough especially as they had notice more than a week ago. They had a bit of a moan but did do the prescription. Hubby was a bit annoyed because he had been waiting in the car.
I then tried to do the impossible and book a GP appt. Got through on the phone to be told I had to book online. Got online only to be told that not more bookings were being taken on line and I had to call the surgery. Another half hour wait to get through and I finally got a phone appt next Thursday. I did mention that their telephone message wasn't helpful but they didn't seem particularly interested in changing it. Lord help anyone who isn't tech savvy.
Gosh Chive, you weren't there when I posted. T'Bird, promise not to tell but can you tell us what lovely plants you have acquired? I am still browsing the seed catalogue.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Yvie - those going round in circles scenarios drive me mad too. Had a hiccup with my repeat prescription last month - nothing major, quickly sorted. Dispensary said everyone who ordered a prescription on that day failed to receive a text advising it was ready to collect. System usually works very well but obviously a techie glitch this time.
LB - I've bought a physocarpus "Darts Gold", a pale lemon shrubby potentilla and 3 Abelia "Kaleidescope" plus some brunneras. Having to use shrubs resistant to honey fungus now! I've not grown Abelia before but they look pretty in a local park so I'm hoping they'll be ok here.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Yvie, you weren't there either. I HATE things like what you have gone through today. I'm quite a patient person but that would try my patience to breaking point. Time to go into the garden and scream I think.
T'Bird, they sound really nice. I've heard of Abelia and just Googled it to refresh my memory. I think they are an excellent choice. I love Brunnera - got one called 'Jack Frost' in my garden. The flowers remind me of forget me nots. The physocarpus should be a lovely pool of sunshine wherever you plant it. Hazel likes physocarpus too. She taught me about 'ninebark'

I have several different brunnera LB. My favourites are probably Jack Frost and Looking Glass but Hapsden Cream is another nice one. All 3 of those light up some dark shady spots under shrubs.
The gold physocarpus will be seen against either Sambucus Nigra or the dark purple Cotinus depending which way you're looking. Hoping it will be a nice strong contrast without being too garish. Not grown physocarpus before either. Really wanted to put a lacecap hydrangea where that's going but I lost a rose in that spot 18 mths ago to what was probably honey fungus - and hydrangeas are very susceptible...
Will watch episode 5 of Unforgotten tonight so we'll have caught up with it. Good innit?

T'Bird, I think they will be a lovely pairing, complementing each other. Honey fungus is such a sneaky pest - bit like vine weevil. At least you know and can get plants that are resistant now.
Unforgotten - dead good 👍👍👍

Good morning LB and all to follow, lovely photos of cats and grape hyacinths.
Forecast here was for rain but it’s dry so hoping to get in the garden before work this afternoon. My new clematis arrived yesterday along with a bag of25 lily bulbs so plenty to do. I adore lilies but I have to grow them in pots where I can patrol daily for the horrid lily beetles!
