Morning TBird ,I hope that the wind settles so you can get in the garden . My OH had his second jab this morning, the Oxford one, he was poorly for a few days with the first one  . I hope he will be ok with the second jab.
Afternoon everyone, dry things are all back in and bird feeder topped up, but it’s too chilly for me to linger outside, SGL Hope all your family is keeping well, enjoy catching up with them on the zoom chats today. Thank you for the reminder about the clocks tonight 🕰 RosieBB I don’t suppose your ring has gone into the sucky thing, can you see the contents from the outside? Take it easy with the furniture you’ll do yourself a mischief, poor battered knees 🤗 PurpleRose I’m sorry to hear your OH is suffering, hope he feels better soon and you don’t get any further ill effects. Fingers crossed that the leak was just an overflow from the shower, peace of mind that the plumber has checked it out for you, LB They are lovely though our garden may not offer the right conditions for them to flourish unfortunately. Hope all is growing well in the GH, how is your lemon tree coming along? Topbird Hope you've got your planting underway now, a G&T outside in the evening now that’s a cheery thought, Rubee I hope OH won’t suffer after having his 2nd vaccine today, fingers crossed for him, Hazel It’s will be nice to see the Sunflowers growing, hope OH has got his seeds all done. You need that cold frame a bit lively now with everything growing away, will it be arriving soon? I hope all is well with Pansy too 🤞 Kettle is calling so it’s time for a cuppa, have a nice afternoon everyone.Â
Hi folks, The last time @pansyface posted on any thread was on 11th March hope she's ok. Â
Some of you may have picked up on other threads that I've not had a good start to the day, due to finding out that all my lovely foxgloves that I have been carefully nurturing have turned out to be comfrey (which I hate). It's going to take a while to recover. I wouldn't mind if I had bought them off ebay from a dodgy source but I only ever buy from well known seed companies. I might have to go out and actually buy some plants, even though they aren't cheap, just to make myself feel better. I have eaten half a bar of chocolate with a cup of tea to help me receover and the sun is out now so I might go out and do a bit more in the garden.
Hello everybody. Wow but its been chilly today. Nothing done outside today but I did nip over the road to see Jack. I'd printed off the timetable showing when various restrictions are lifted in England for him so he can keep checking each day. I also took him some of my surplus dwarf dahlia seeds as he had asked for some when he heard I was gowing them. He is very well considering. I reminded him about altering his clocks as he had forgotten it was tonight he had to do it. He has got lots of chiming clocks so that should have kept him busy today.
I don't think Lily will have any problems adjusting to the time change T'Bird because she has been working on BST for 9 years! Love the sound of a G&T outside in a sunny evening. It will happen!
Chive my two little lemon trees are looking OK but the taller one seems to have been touched by frost (even in the GH) - when we had that really bitter spell. The edges of some of the top leaves are a bit brown but I don't think it has caused too much damage.
Chive, I heard from Pansyface on March 17th and she didn't mention anything untoward so I hope that she is ok too. I'll contact her.
Yvie, sorry your foxgloves turned out to be comfrey and I'm sorry that you hate comfrey. It is loved by bees and makes an excellent fertiliser for the garden. I have one plant in my garden and it is the Bocking 14 variant so it does not set seed.
I have just planted 3 Excelsior foxgloves in a huge ceramic pot outside my back door.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Evening, Hazel Oh that’s a bit of a wait yet for the cold-frame, but it sounds like you have got everything under control, Goodnight hope you sleep well. Yvie How annoying to grow and plant something you didn’t even want, chocolate and purchase absolutely necessary for damage control, LB Thank you for confirming contact with Pansy.  I’m pleased your lemon trees are still going, lucky you’ve got them in the GH. Nice to see Jack today, clocks all done now thank you, Time for me to say goodnight.Â
