  • @owd potter, ah is this for your new rose bed?  I've been following your thread.  Very interested to see what you will go for, it's exciting starting an area from scratch.

@cooldoc, I'll order these in summer, or a revised list...I'm just getting ahead of myself.

A sprinkling of snow with the frost this AM and garden is bent over with the cold, brrr!  Hope everyone's plants/buds are ok.

Wow. It dipped to -2 in London a few nights ago.

    It is @Victoria Sponge
I was just removing the last remnants of the existing plants and turning over the soil at weekend thinking how refreshing it is to be starting an area completely anew.
Just another day at the plant...

Yes @Victoria Sponge, but I will try and restrict myself to the few I missed out on this year - Crepuscule, Salita and Souvenir de Marcel Proust - all in the orange/yellow colour range - plus a climber or two for the new large rose arch I am plotting. I have new purples, pinks and whites coming out of my ears for my new rose bed in the east garden!

    No more roses for me...

...roll on next week when the temps rise again...  were you happy with the colour of your Forever Royal @Nollie ...  I would expect it to be more purple..

    That's a nice mix of plants @newbie77

I thought the same; I could rush and give myself loads of extra work or wait until autumn.  I plant many of my potted daffs in the ground in the green in spring as I can see where the spaces are so it's not like I have nothing to do :)

I like Buttercup, looks like a nice yellow.  I think I few people got it this year on here, look forward to seeing it.  I like yellow.

Snow has melted here now, might have a look round and see what the damage is!

@newbie77 Your Daphne looks big and with lots of buds. How long since you planted it? I believe they are really slow growers.

@cooldoc, these are 5 years old. They could have been bigger but for first 4 years these were in pots.
