OK.. as Nollie's roses are now well underway and several members appear to have buds on the verge... it's a good time to start our new seasonal thread mentioned earlier... splitting the year into two parts.. as this thread is already quite long and we've barely begun...

    @Nollie
...you may not see this right now but ready when you are..  Thursday morning?..  until then we can carry on here but hopefully migrate to the new thread when it's up and then close this one down...

..the new thread should take us to the end Sept.. then a new one from October for the Autumn/winter period..

  • Thanks @Marlorena.  It will be a while yet.  I'll have to do most of the digging as hubby is still on light duties and don't want him overdoing it.

Thanks @Yviestevie fingers crossed mine will look as beautiful as yours in a few years time.

I meant Wednesday morning, not Thursday ... bit of rain I had got me confused..  sometime today would be good if you're about.... thanks..

Must have been a trickle of rain overnight, droplets on top of the waterbutts but none inside!

Rained for about 1 hour last night. Garden is damp and my waterbutts are 3/4 full again.
Who'd have thought that a bit of rain in England could spark such joy!

Just another day at the plant...

@Fire, I got petunia red velour seeds and today I saw teeny tiny green sprouts coming.
@newbie77  - how are they coming on?

..might as well show some big pink roses I've had here, whilst on the subject..

    'Felicia' before the rain..

..and after.. which is a bit unfair as it's held up pretty good.. it was a right old downpour and few roses could withstand it..

    'Bonica'

    'Bonica' again..

'Hyde Hall'.. a large growing, musky scented rose, very thorny.. not the best picture..

    'Hyde Hall' blooms..

'The Ancient Mariner'.. this rose has stunning Spring foliage, and beautiful buds..

'Royal Jubilee'.. sweetly scented, continuous bloom, wonderful foliage.. globular, but will open to reveal stamens..

Your roses are just stunning this year, as usual, @Marlorena.  I have to get my regular "fix" of them here weekly.  :)
