Much of my garden is still buried under snow. Do you think the two stalks in the foreground here look alright or not? Unlike the others, they are brown and not showing new growth. This was probably the spindliest-looking of the roses I put in in autumn- a Lady of Shallot- and is also the rose I had been most looking forward to, so I am possibly a bit too anxious about it.
@sarinka - yes I agree with Tack they look fine. Can see new growth starting on them.
I've cleaned, sharpened and oiled my cutting tools ready. As you can probably tell from the colour of the loppers this is a relatively recent thing that I've started doing!
No actual pruning today, too cold. I might have chance to start tomorrow after our visit to the dentist.
Although I have pruned my winter beard. I'll spare you the photo though 😁
I had intended to plant out my four roses I had planted in pots last year but because of the weather have not been able to do three of them. Have I left it too late now or should I do it perhaps next week if the weather's warmer?

Can't find photos of my proper reds. Here is Tess of the d'Urbervilles.
