keep your eyes peeled for them in garden centres existing stock, and snap 'em up if you find either
Just another day at the plant...
  • @pitter-patter that looks wonderful! I rather like the droopy head look. And if the scent is good too. I read that it flowers from the bottom of the bush, so a bit of drooping over the edge of a pot could look rather charming.

@Nollie has planted the idea of LEH now though, and the fact that you can’t buy it makes me want it all the more! 😕
  • Gabriel Oak anyone? I feel I ought to like it but I’m not sure of the colour from the photo on the DA site....  But maybe it looks better in the flesh and the scent makes it worth it?

    Or Gertrude Jekyll??
  • They look amazing @Omori.  Will bookmark their site as never heard of them before.

@Perki What an amazing Desdemona they sent you, and that pot is beautiful. Look forward to seeing it in full bloom.

I've just noticed this on my Harlow Carr...looks like die back, yet everything above it seems perfectly healthy and budding. Any ideas as to what it is and should I be concerned.

Is the left hand branch died are dying Pete ?  Branches normally die top down so I wouldn't personally be to worried about die back . It looks like it may of been nibbled by something ? I'd keep an eye on it a give it a good feed . One last thing what have you mulched around the rose ? Manure ? has it been right up to the stems touching them ?
  • That looks beautiful @edhelka thank you so much for sharing- you say people were disappointed with the scent? How would you describe it?

I’m still toying over which roses to buy, it’s quite fun weighing up the different options! ☺️

I’m intrigued to understand why some roses are discontinued, does anyone have ideas about that?
