    "No, we're No 9"
" Is the house next door No 10 , or No 11? "
    " I've no idea"
    Possibly not a local then
    ... holiday cottage? 😠
No he actually said "WE'RE no 9" not "this is no 9"

  • Wide awake at 6 eventually went back to sleep,   then slept in till 9! Now I still have that woolly headed feeling - I hate that, tea & porridge haven't helped.
Wet here too, still won't be able to finish my revamp of raspberries on the plots. 😕

  • Morning, How is everyone today?
I had reasonable success this weekend in that I managed to heel in my bare roots. Not having much success with the chilli seeds though - even in a warm house I just think its been too cold! I still have 2 pairs of sock and some slippers on!!

The snow has all gone here and it's a balmy 2 degrees but at least I might be able to get out for a stroll around the block at lunchtime in between meetings. Today is being conducted completely through a screen so any chance for fresh air is being taken! Even a 2 min walk down the garden!

Both parents received their letters Friday/Saturday so both are booked in for their jabs so that's all good news!

    Keep warm everyone!

Morning all, I thought today was going to be milder than yesterday but the wind is having none of it. Far too cold for me to do outdoor tasks. My daughter scanned me through some photos she found while packing to move house which made me find my photos which I haven't looked at for ages, so have been having a lazy morning.
I feel for you @Busy-Lizzie not a good situation for either of you. I am getting quite down hearted about the roll out of the vaccinations here, I suppose there is light at the end of the tunnel or is that a train coming the other way?
  • Hello all,

@Hostafan1 I have every sympathy with you regards house names and numbers, we're lucky if they even have a number here at all I've done some deliveries of takeaways/Christmas orders and had to stop and ask several times over. Very frustrating.

Successful morning here, managed to take the old floor covering in the tearoom up and get it to the tip, weeded a flowerbed and cut back some old foliage on a few shrubs/grasses and now enjoying coffee on the terrace. Happy days. 😎

Waiting for floor man now for his verdict on how to fix an extremely uneven floor.

The white stripes are extremely sticky strips of tape that held the old lino down. Big hole in the floor where we knocked out the old false fireplace and false wall.
    Lots to do yet. 😱😁

Time for bed here, but thinking of you all. Dove I’m hoping your arm isn’t too sore.

Well, that was all very well organised and straightforward ... we were even offered a hot drink while we waited 15 mins before driving home.  Now we’re home ... I do have a bit of a headache ... but that may just be the excitement of putting on some less scruffy clothes and travelling 3.1 miles in the car 🤪
Now for a cheese and pickled cabbage sandwich 😋

Hi everyone.  Woke up to another very cold, grey day with the teeniest hint of watery sunshine to the south east.  Still watery now but it is dry and despite the feeble rays we are set to get to double figures!!    Very squelchy out there tho so not going on any beds yet to weed for a day or two more.

OH is off to practice his golf swing and putting.  I shall mess about with curtains and maybe tackle a Roman blind.

That floor looks challenging @D0rdogne_Damsel.   Hope you find a reasonable solution.

I understand your frustrations @Busy-Lizzie.   Can your OH not claim residency here and then come and go as he pleases?  He doesn't need to own a property here if his wife does surely?  I need to get to England to sort out some stuff following my mother's demise but it's looking unlikely for some time.  Certainly don't want to go without having had at least one vaccine.

Need to get Possum back to Belgium too but probably not before Easter now.   Brexit means the British SM there has had no deliveries since December and will likely close.  No more mint jelly and HP sauce for Possum nor Irish black and white puddings for all of us.

Have a safe and contented day everyone.

Afternoon all,  A lovely day in the garden today.  It's mild and dry with sunny intervals.  The ground is still very wet as it rained last night but I managed to prune most of the roses, clear away hellibore leaves and remove two roses that I'm not keen on.  All in all a very productive morning.  Oh we also rearranged a lot of the pots in the area where the raised bed will go for veg.  It's suprising how much better I feel after getting a lot of fresh air.  Not sure I will feel quite as good tomorrow, I'm expecting to ache quite a bit.

  • What a difference a bit of sun makes.  I spent some time in the garden too , one two thing's have suffered from the snow and ice, but I will wait a while before I do anything drastic in case they recover.  The soil is still frozen in places.
