    Hello all,

Had a busy day, mostly outside in the garden but a quick cheesecake had to be made for a takeaway order this afternoon.

I cooked a pork fillet for dinner, it makes a nice 'Sunday dinner' but only takes 30 minutes to cook, means more time in the garden.

I've showered and got into my new M&S "loungewear" that got delivered yesterday. Basically a track suit but made of lovely soft wool, not quite PJ's so not completely slovenly but very comfy. :)

Am watching a new series on Netflix, The Sinner, so far so good. I like the detective, so that helps. I got fed up with Money Heist and had very mixed feelings about a Belgium series I watched recently, The Break. I don't think it'll be long before I go to bed, first day back to school for Charlie tomorrow, that means a 6:30 wake up call.

Have a good evening all. :)

  • Well, the forecast totally-dry-and-sunny day got me drenched a couple of times, and produced a beautiful double rainbow early this afternoon.  But I got the compost bin emptied and the compost spread, mostly on the new no-dig beds, with a bit of surplus used for the area most mucked up by the builders last year, where I want to plant some Rosa rugosa and other tough stuff.  I'm stiff but satisfied...

Yes, @WonkyWomble - why don't they make dumpy sacks in a nice dark brown?  Or camouflaged, perhaps.  I'm trying to hide my leaf sack behind the compost bins but it's in the way.

Hope you stop aching soon, @AuntyRach.

Your soil @Lizzie27 sounds like the soil I had at the old house. I've just discovered clay here, minus the limestone. I've started digging my new beds for the pink roses and it was quite heavy, I'm adding lots of compost. Bit back achey, hope it won't ache tomorrow.

  • That looks pretty good soil to me @Busy-Lizzie ... at least it looks to have ‘body’ ... here it can be quite dusty in the dry spells, except where we’ve dug in loads of compost and manure.

Fell asleep during Finding Alice ... what a very silly programme it was 🙄

You’re going great guns @Busy-Lizzie - it looks great 👍🏻

Only a half day in the garden for us today - we wore ourselves out 😴.  But all raised beds now filled to the right level, and really pleased with how its coming along.  Spent the afternoon reading gardening mags to recuperate.

Think tomorrows task is repairing a fence panel that one of the winter storms felled for us, and some seed sowing of flowers that need some time to get a wiggle on to produce flowers this summer.

My word you’ve all been busy. I’m still rejoicing that we had 4mm rain yesterday. 🙄

It’s clouded over again today, but nothing wet yet.

  • Good morning all,

Very windy again today, definitely clearing the trees of deadwood.

Hoping to get back in the garden again today.

    Have a good day all.

  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
it’s a calm still morning and the sun is trying to break through the haze.
I have declared today ‘paperwork sorting and filing day’ 🙄

    Hi all
So much warmer, managed to spend time sitting in the garden, sadly not feeling well enough to do much.
Hope to sow some seeds today.

  • Morning @punkdoc ... glad you were able to enjoy some fresh air.  You’ve probably spent a great more time working in your garden than sitting back and enjoying it. Now’s the time to even up the balance a bit ... almost the most important features in my garden are comfy places to relax and enjoy the view. 😎 ☕️
