The net nearest neighbour is 500 yards away, but I am going to phone them and ask. They have always been supportive of my ongoing battles.
I’m just relishing the thought of him having to get it and transport it to your doorstep 🤢 . Tee hee 😜

Thank you everyone 😊 he's on the mend
Step wobble and he OH in Brighton all have covid and extended family,  both being teachers,  not surprising! All also seem to be on the mend thankfully.
Your neighbour is a total Pr @#k @punkdoc
Id be so tempted to lump him myself but restrain yourself,  I always used to play a violent computer game to let it out,  before the hands got too sore after gardening that is! Maybe a punchbag is needed! 😉
Keep yourself safe and hope let fate take its corse.
Take care of yourselves everyone please x
  • I hope Karma comes and bites your neighbour on the bum @punkdoc

Good luck with your move @Busy-Lizzie I think that it all looks overwhelming and thoughts of how it will all get moved but it is always achieved. I remember when we moved and the removals turned up and i thought we have too much stuff to fit in the lorry and it all fit in nicely.
  • You can only hope that the NDN does complete his move away & The new ones are better @punkdoc. 🤞
@WonkyWomble does the cold trigger his symptoms? Hope he improves soon.

Afternoon all, hoping you can answer  question, nothing garden related, I have a friend who lives near braintree in Essex, she said they are in lockdown, I said tier 4, she says Police are stopping people and fining them.  I checked up on the directgov site to make sure we are allowed to drive to the beach or parks to excersies it says yes, she recons you cannot we are both in tier 4.  Must be someone from near there on here?

I think the instructions are to ‘stay local’ ... if you live a mile or so from the beach I would think it’s fine to go there for fresh air and exercise. If you live 10 miles away I think that’s much too far to be calling it ‘local’. Not sure what the police would call it but I would hope a person’s conscience would make them err on the side of caution.

I’m angry for you @WonkyWomble. I hope hubby’s episode passes swiftly.
Against my usual nature, I hope the people who ‘celebrated’ in the streets (or at parties) suffer consequences - a video call from the ITU to say their loved one is dying usually does the trick, I find.

As for @punkdoc’s ‘present’ - how juvenile is your neighbour? A disgusting act from a fellow human. I hope he never needs your help.

@Busy-Lizzie - I can imagine that you are stressed. Boxes can be unpacked at your leisure though (part from that one we do with the kettle and snacks). Good luck with it all.

@Nanny Beach - you are correct, but only if ‘local’ (undefined). It seems odd to me as the banner for Tier 4 is “stay at home” and ‘exercise’ is deemed as essential but who is to say that walking along a beach is or isn’t exercise.

Keep safe folks.  No more dramas please!

    Afternoon all.   :)

Minus 3.5 last night, the coldest we've had in the 14 months since we moved here.  Another bright day so another afternoon walk, taking in the same bit of lake as in the photo I posted the other day; this time we stopped to watch a fishing boat which was just returning to the jetty, making an amazing crunching noise through the thin ice layer.  The lanes were a bit "skitey" in places but we managed to stay vertical...

Glad to hear your hubby is recovering, @WonkyWomble .  I'm not surprised you were incensed at the new year celebrations - nor you, @punkdoc , at your detestable NDN's behaviour.  Hope their house sells very soon!

If anyone is in contact with @Hostafan1, please let him know he's not forgotten.

I heard from @Hostafan1 yesterday @Liriodendron  ... he knows we’re all thinking of him and ‘rooting’ for him 😘

That's good, @Dovefromabove.  I'd hate him to think that we didn't care about him or his hubby.   :)
