It's such a lot for teachers to cope with isn't it @Yviestevie, step womble was saying the same and now of course they both have covid. Best wishes to all your family, glad your getting lots of grandchildren cuddles
Thanks @punkdoc, I can see the result being him working through it. I've written to my MP again, he did write to the chancellor on my behalf but he fobbed me of with listing everything they are doing to help everyone else! So obviously, another email was sent to MP. Low expectations avoid disappointment, my life coffee comes in useful once again!! Glad to hear the police finally got round to your neighbours even if he did communicate this to you with an unpleasant gift!
Morning all. Bright and sunny, but not quite so cold today.
I was having a Zoom sing last night with my friends from the little singing group I was in, in Todmorden, when the lockdown news came through - much discussion ensued as the extent of the restrictions became apparent, including ideas for keeping 2 university students from climbing the walls of our leading soprano's tiny terraced house... here in Ireland we're a little behind you in terms of Covid spread, but there's going to be a decision on Irish schools, exams etc in the next 24 hours or so. The rest of our lockdown is pretty severe already, but the Health Service is struggling.
It sounds as if you're on the home straight, @Busy-Lizzie. Glad you've got plenty of help.
Fingers crossed for your hubby, @WonkyWomble . He shouldn't be expected to work if he needs to shield...
Hello @Pat E. Short-sleeved shirts at 8pm seem a distant memory... but I guess it will eventually warm up again on this side of the world!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Hello all, we have had snow this morning and still have some flurries. I hope @Busy-Lizzie is having better weather for her move today. My Daughter is waiting for a house moving date, but I think that will be somewhere down the line now with your lockdown. Our vaccination roll out is very poor over here - red tape etc, Macron is getting a lot of stick at the moment. Stay safe and warm everyone.
We actually had a sharper start today as our rescheduled SM delivery was due between 8-9. So having stirred our stumps, we got a walk in. It was much quieter, but the odd flurry of sleet might have been a factor. The frost lifted quickly but path still slippy in places. Hope the move goes well @Busy-Lizzie.
We had some snow showers today. Thankfully it melted pretty quickly.
Been out for a run tonight with Mr Purple Rose. It was freezing out there but I soon warmed up. We have registered on Park Run tonight. They aren't running due to lockdown but if we didn't register now I think that it wouldn't have got done. It's just something to make running a bit more interesting rather than pounding the pavement.
Busy day here. Took Rasta to the orthopaedic vet to have her arthritic bits felt and she checked everything else too. Remarkably good nick for her age apart from the arthritis so she'll be getting phytotherapy too. It's worked remarkably well for Bonzo's hips so I might have a word with a human pharmacist about plant supplements for me too. Bonzo's contains nettles, filipendula and one of the worts.
After that a raid on the Vietnamese shop for cooking goodies and then home to take down the decorations.
Dry day but cold. More to come. I hope it's stayed dry for @Busy-Lizzie and her move.
Vaccine roll out is slow here. I gather Mr Macron is losing patience with all the red tape slowing it down and I also heard that some proposed vaccine centres haven't managed to organise enough of the fancy freezers needed for the German vaccine so they're expecting to "lose" some to wastage. Oh well, at least no-one's talking about his hair-do.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Evening all, had my pneumonia jab. Nurse said they shouldn't be doing it but as I was there and it had already been postponed once she went ahead. I did say I was surprised it hadn't been cancelled but the appointment was still on their system so I felt obliged to turn up.
The snow melted and it didn't snow again. Hadn't snowed at the new house.
It's all a bit chaotic, 3 smallish lorries delivered stuff to the new house this afternoon. There are a heck of a lot of boxes. Removal men don't think it will all fit, but they hadn't taken any of the bedroom things upstairs as the owner hadn't finished moving out. Still main bedroom, kitchen and half the sitting room to pack.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Parkrunning is a great way to keep fit. I will be glad when it returns.
