Quite a thick layer of the white stuff here, the school run was a bit tricky, at the bottom of our hill I ended up sideways on across the lane, that was just by gently braking, all ok though, we got there in the end. Very pretty but I really could have done with not having to drive on it. 🙄
Roasted red prefer and tomato soup started now, veg is in the oven, smells delicious already. 😀
I think I'll try and get a bit of paperwork done, my least favourite task, but there's not much and if I'm lucky the French government might give me some compensation for loss of income once I can prove how much I've lost - eventually anyway. The November payment finally arrived at the end of December, 7 weeks after being closed down. I know I should be grateful and I'm lucky not to be reliant on it, but imagine how many people struggled without an income of any sort for 7 weeks. The news of the UK lockdown doesn't send a very positive signal for us here either, we can't be far behind what's happening over there I don't suppose and we're a long way behind with the vaccine too so far.
Just wish I could get out in the garden.
Anyway, it is what it is, ever onwards.
Keep warm everyone. ❄️

Virtual hugs and hot cups of tea and coffee to all that need them --- wrap up warm all of you and stay safe x, good luck with the move @Busy-Lizzie and good luck getting on with paperwork @D0rdogne_Damsel... glad you're ok after your treacherous drive!
I must say I don’t miss the early morning windscreen scraping @AuntyRach ... we never found a windscreen protector that didn’t set the alarm off in the middle of the night 🙄
Morning all. You all sound very chirpy. Haven’t done much today. I dug put some frozen pea and ham soup, so that’s what we had for tea tonight. I’m still in a short sleeved tshirt at almost 8pm.
Five removal men have turned up today. That's a relief. Two couldn't have done it all in time. We should be going with the first two lorries to the new house this afternoon. They can't use big lorries because of the 1km long drive, it's like a forest track. I'll be glad to see the back of it!
Thank you all for the good luck wishes.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning all, afternoon @Pat E Good luck today @Busy-Lizzie, sounds like you have a big enough team of helpers OH has gone back to work today but its still insisting he won't go on furlough as he gets paid little enough as it is! I told him to take his government shielding letter to discuss with the bosses but they are on holiday! 🤬
Morning all. @WonkyWomble hope your OH can get something sorted. It’s been a tough year for those that have had their incomes cut. We have lost some income from Hubby’s teaching but he has managed to deliver some of his guitar lessons on line. Fisr and Secondborn are tearing their hair out again. They have spent a lot of the Christmas hols sorting out testing volunteers etc. Now they don’t need it. They were both up half the night sorting out stuff for their staff to be able to go back to remote learning. At least the nurseries are staying open for front line workers. So Jonah Gabriel Merri and Mabel can go to school/nursery. Hope the move goes OK @Busy-Lizzie. Stay safe everyone
