Hello all, very stormy down here, the ground is waterlogged in places. It would be much worse if OH hadn't managed to replace old broken drainage pipes last summer when he took out our huge old fig tree that the roots had infiltrated. Went out to top up the bird feeders between the wind and downpours, I hope the weather gets better soon - the price of the feed is horrendous. Catch up with you all later, stay safe.
Thanks for the info Allotment Boy. I can have a talk to my local Pharmacist and see what she knows about it. I’m really hoping that my jaw settles soon though. I’m just fed up with it. 😏
Morning all to the later arrivals ... sleep is very good @Hostafan1 ... think you’re owed a few hours 😉 I suspect the price of bird feed will rocket up here now @floralies as most of its imported from the EU. Hang on to your hat 💨

Hello Forkers. We have sunshine and blue skies which is unexpected after a very windy night that kept me awake with all the noise, whistling round the house. Set to get grey and dreary again for the weekend with some heavy rain altho the little blue snow symbols have disappeared form the forecast.
I have been busy making a batch of kimchi which will be ready to eat in 2 weeks' time and a batch of red salad which will be ready to eat tomorrow and will last us a few days' lunches. Bacon egg and beans today.
Glad you're sleeping better @Hostafan1 and hope your toothache clears up soon @Pat E . I have Possum's new black jeans to finish this pm. Complicated construction but just the hems and waistband to finish now.

Hello all, Very cheerful and chatty on here today. 😁
I've done the takeaway lunches and afternoon teas and also emptied all the cupboards out for the kitchen fitter on Tuesday. I'm having new under counter fridges and freezers put in and all new worktops to extend the workspace, an extra oven and a bigger 6 ring hob. The dishwasher is also being moved to a more convenient spot. Hopefully just a few days work and of course nice to be able to do it without the stress of a deadline for opening again. Also feels good to be looking forward with optimism.
Very windy here and quite a bit of rain forecast, well into next week. I've a stream at the bottom of the garden at CdeG which is running very fast and has broken its banks overnight but nothing to worry about, lots of space to run off luckily. I feel so sorry for those with flooded homes and businesses, such an ordeal for so many.
Weigh in day again tomorrow, fingers crossed. I have been very careful and done lots of exercise so I do think I'll have lost something. 🤔🙄🤞
It's my birthday on Sunday, I'm not going to have any alcohol but I'm definitely having a nice roast dinner and a pudding, possibly sticky toffee pudding and custard.....I'll just do double exercise on Monday. 😅

Custard?? Has to be just cream here. Already enough sweetness in the sauce and pud!
Good luck with the weigh-in and kitchen manoeuvres.
I have stopped sewing as I'm bleeding - the perils of making buttonholes in jeans. Wen to to see the chooks who get very excited about a tin of sweetcorn. Clearly starving. Connected up the 3 hosepipes I need to get to the polytunnel and rinsed and watered all the plants who've been sharing the chooks' dust bathing habit. The fuchsias looked particularly unhappy. Oops.
