We had our usual SM delivery today but instead of the small half leg of lamb I was expecting they substituted an enormous whole leg - for just 2 of us! I was a bit flabbergasted as I don't possess a meat cleaver but with OH's help I was able to roughly hack it in half, cutting through by the jointed bit. I've kept one piece for Sunday and frozen the other half. OH was all for getting my electric saw out of the shed and having a go with it! I suppose it wasn't worth their time to get their butcher to joint it but it's a bargain for me.

    Hope Fairygirl is okay.

  • We are very frustrated with the SM deliveries  , there is something wrong nearly every time.  They are always apologetic & refund us but that's not really helpful when it means you have to do without something you were depending on. Latest example is our bread was dated the day it arrived, when we went to use some it had a mould growing on it.  I used to just cut mould off bread but we saw something recently that showed how much is there that you can't see & how far it penetrates even though it looks ok.

Couldn't have been Morrisons then @Lizzie27, when I was in Norfolk during the first lockdown they expected me to pay for any substitutions that were over the price of what I ordered.

Howling gale and tipping rain this evening, some of the TV channels weren't working.

I cleaned out a couple of kitchen cupboards and started my Christmas cards today. Not the nicest of cards as I haven't been to England to buy any this autumn. They are quite expensive here. So it's leftovers from other years this year.

I’ve given up on Christmas cards. Just an email to send Xmas wishes.🙄

I can’t get used to this weather. We have another hot day predicted here, but they are predicting possible snow in Tassie. 😳. Crazy.

Friday is another town day for us, so we will go in there about lunch time. It’s really just an excuse to go somewhere rather than staying in.

I hope Fairy appears soon. I miss her little comments. I miss Hosta too, but I understand that he feels a bit low.  I wish Chicky would come back on. It’s all upsetting for people at this time with the virus.

DD, as always, I’m amazed at your energy.

    Dove, that explosion sounds awful.

    Sleep well everyone.

This was why we had a power failure a couple of days ago. It’s on the main road between town and our village, so the whole area was out.

  • Good morning all 😊 No coffee this morning as I have an early trip for a fasting blood test ... water only until then so don’t expect a lot of sense from me 🥴
