  • Just heard youngest GD has tested positive for C19. Her **** school has been very slack with precautions in spite of complaints from parents.  She came home Friday & said a friend had tested pos so SIL booked a drive in test straight away got the results this pm. She has no symptoms.

That's a worry @Allotment Boy.   Fingers crossed for the whole family.

Hope you get the vaccine asap @AuntyRach .  It's true @D0rdogne_Damsel that many French are suspicious about jabs - governmental PR and info failures seem to be systemic and based on ignorance and suspicion.   Not the same as a healthy dose of cynicism.

    Morning forkers.
I'm new to the forum, and feel i have been snarky with a few of my comments. I have had a traumatic few weeks, and not sleeping much. That isn't an excuse, so i apologise if i have offended anyone.
Thank god for gardening to keep me sane!

    Hi @Balgay.Hill 😊 🙏
Sorry you’ve had a rough time ... quite a few of us have been having a tough time and know about stuff keeping us awake ... life’s a bit grim at the moment,  but chatting to online friends can help, and for some of us those online friendships have become just as important as those with folk we used to be able to share a coffee or a pint with. Some of us have even met up for garden visits (with coffee and cake of course) and hopefully more outings are not too far away now. All are welcome to join in the chat here so join in and get to know us ... we’re quite nice really 😉  😊

    Thanks for the reply. :)
I hate the short daylight hours, as being outside takes my mind off things. As i live on my own, i feel my stress levels rising and sometimes snap at folk for no reason as i have no release. At least i can dig my way through the stress if it wasn't dark.

  • Morning all,

Hello there @Balgay.Hill. Absolutely agree with you about gardening keeping us sane during these difficult times. Nothing like a bit of escapism and distraction from reality. I think we're all hoping things are going to get better soon, January is looming, a long month at the best of times.

I've one order to fulfill this morning then I'm going to try and relax for a while. Pouring with rain so sadly no gardening to be done. 🙁

I actually enjoy January. For me it is usually a time of optimism with plans for the new year. The festive period will be difficult for me this year, and i just want it to be over.
