Hello everyone.  OH's birthday today and it has a zero at the end but we'll just have to celebrate quietly at home cos no restaurants open and it's persisting down so not even a walk on a beach.

6 eggs again today and all the chooks very chatty and giddy when I guide them to the polytunnel where they can grub about in the dry and the light and tuck into chopped utchiki kuri pumpkin.   Too small for us to cook as it was a late one but full of seeds for them.

@floralies I like cooking but will have to grit my teeth for OH's chosen dinner - 70s style prawn cocktail, steak au poivre and then chocolate raspberry brownies with ice cream.  Pud is Possum's department.    He's slim @Dovefromabove and all the gardening and walkies keep him trim so he can afford a feast.

@Balgay.Hill it's called being a Plantaholic and indulging in HRT - horticultural retail therapy.

@Fairygirl Have just seen a report on scientific predictions for climate change in the UK and in the next couple of decades there may be no more snow except on the highest Scottish peaks and soggy, rather than frozen, ground lower down.

Glad you enjoyed your sport @punkdoc.   OH is only watching golf at the mo so I have no idea what else is on at the mo.

Big fan of the late and much missed Mr Banks. I had a copy of Raw Spirit in the car this summer to enjoy virtual tours of Scotland while waiting in various hospital car parks.
  • That book sound very interesting according to Goodreads @punkdoc, I'll add it to my list. I am hooked on Rebus at the moment though, not read so fast for years.

The Crow Road is a fantastic book.
Raw Spirit is a great read too, especially for a single malt lover like myself. Enjoyed the story in it about him and his father enjoying the '40' year old single malt.  :)

When we were teenagers, my self and my friends used to hang about outside distilleries waiting on coach parties turning up. We would sneak in at the back of the party, and scoop up all the leftovers. Most folk only took a sip of each malt from their tasting session and moved on.
I can still remember this Ozzy tour guide at one distillery saying 'come on guys, that's been 5 coach parties', as we staggered through the tasting hall!  :)
