  • Hello all.  Mixed weather here but dry for my weekly shopping trip to the village this morning.  I always walk, whatever the weather, so that was a bonus.  More paint scraping this afternoon, accompanied by my furry assistant (cat)... at least the cat is white, as well as the paint...

Thanks for the encouragement about the garden, @Obelixx.  We'll get there in the end, no doubt.   :)

I used to own a wedding hat.  Son's first wedding was a formal affair, so I felt obliged.  But... very short woman with big head + hat = mushroom.  It went to Oxfam.  It's strange, cos my daughter is only a little taller than me, but looks great in hats...

Hope the back eases very soon, @punkdoc.

  • Busy day wrapping presents ... phone call from bro ... his breathing is much improved as the damage from the op is healing. He sounds and feels considerably better than a week ago. 😊

Now for bed and Book at Bedtime ... hope everyone has a restful night ... sleep tight. 😴

My house visit went very well. Good to see it in cold weather, it was warm last time in September. They had the wood burning stove lit in the breakfast room and it warmed up most of the house. You can cook on it too. There are radiators as well.

I was able to measure the parts I wasn't sure of. The kitchen table will fit into the breakfast room, which is the diner side of the kitchen, separated by a half wall and open between them beams. There was a small radiator that I hadn't noticed before just where I'd planned to put a bookcase in the sitting room, I'll have to find another place.

The owner showed me where the controls or the water heater are, the mains water tap and the phone points. Because of Covid and not being able to travel to other regions they haven't been able to go house hunting so they are going to stay with her parents about 10 minutes drive away. They seemed OK about it though.

  • Good news about your brother, @Dovefromabove.   :)  Hope you sleep well now you've spoken to him.

Didn't see your post @Dovefromabove. I'm glad your brother is improving.

Morning everyone.  Still no rain, but not hot, so we should be able to do things outside, if we’ve a mind to do anything, 😃
    sleep well.
